Why would they go for KM who went down without a whimper last season?

He has no track record of keeping a team up.

But his two seasons of management in the second tier could come in handy at Spurs in 2026/27...

Fair point, other than the pay off, can't see any reason why anyone would want to manage them for the last 7 games or whatever it is.

Go down and you're done as a manager, stay up and it will be expected and probably not given job longer term anyway,

Benters seems to be taking the path of least resistance, and trying to score with "funnies" mostly. Otherwise, he's a bit bored with it all.

Not sure if he's actually thought about anything in great depth yet, tho'.

He wouldn't be done if they went down. Take them back up, it would be a certainty , and you're a hero managing a big club in the Premier. He has everything to gain.

They are not going to appoint someone with no proven track record in the PL, certainly not after Tudor.

Which is pretty much the most Spursy option open to them.

Let me put it this way, would you stick around as manager of the football club knowing that the huge error made by our chairman, acknowledged and apologised for was going to be the over riding concern now amongst supporters for at least the foreseeable future. My overriding concern at this time would be to ensure everybody on and off the field is striving for the same goal..Promotion.
Why not leave the big decisions to those that know when, why and how they’ll carry them out.

As a decent and intelligent chap I’m sure Kmac would be as peed off as the rest of us by the club endorsing an alleged racist as the countries leader

You beat me to it.

I never saw McKenna leaving the stability of Town for a dysfunctional Spurs, but this week that narrative changed a bit. So, now is the time for the fans to show they are 110% behind McKenna and the team so he isn't even slightly tempted ...

They sack the manager, the interim, then want to appoint another manager with a similar CV as the interim they just sacked.

If they do down, they only have themselves to blame.

If they bring in someone like a Redknapp at least they will get the fans onside a bit and the narrative is then blame the club legend.

Be funny if they went down to league 1. It does happen, as we know.

I don't think McKenna's stock is as high as it was this time two years ago. Last year we got generally got worse as the season went on and went down with a wimper. This year we haven't had the impact on the division we expected. I don't think Spurs will take the risk unless they are almost accepting relegation as a possibility and partially planning for next year.

If KM does or does not get us promoted this season he will likely want to seek a new challenge, his entire stock is going to based on what he does this season. I would not rule out Celtic so he gets some European games under his belt, seems the sort of man who will want to learn more.

His CV would then be 3 promotions and 2 of them to the promise land. Not too shabby.

McK and Tottenham by chicoazul 24 Mar 8:06
If we don’t go up this season and if Spurs come down which obviously in and of itself would be hilarious, is there any doubt they would come in for McK? Clearly they’re waiting to see what league they will be in before they appoint someone.
I’d be less bothered about Wet Spam as I don’t think McK is their type of manager if that scenario happened instead.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

And he could avoid all this political sectarianism by moving to Celtic or even Rangers. Oh wait.......

Who knows, maybe Chelsea will go back him for, then sack him by January. Then he goes to Celtic. I would think with his up bringing the political side of it would be fine Some one said once his family are Celtic.

Either way he will likely go end of season. I am open to a new manager and seeing what they can bring to the club, it is not like KM would leave with the club in a mess, we owe a lot to KM and he will always be a legend on the clubs rich history.

Things move on, he might even go to Spurs if they go down, he would be the best man for the job on paper.
