Yeah, run away like you always do if anyone challenges you to actually think about something for a second.

Balls,I’m going for a walk in the once beautiful countryside before this government concrete over everything.

Have a good day.

If you want the countryside and wider environment to be properly ruined then by all means go ahead and vote Reform.

Should be an automatic two week ban for frivolous use of the abuse button. Maybe "Reported as abuse by [poster]" would cut this nonsense out.

Pretty sure that Farage made over 1m last year from roles outside of his MP role whilst barely turning up to vote on issues for his constituents.

He mentioned Clacton 4 times in the HoC I think (possibly 5, but I think it was 4).

He’s obviously not the answer, but he’s not the problem either. Someone has to be brave enough to rebuild faith in politics by putting people first, not corporations and the City. I can’t see any sign of that unfortunately. Burnham is blundering down the same path Starmer did with his insistence on red lines, etc., so I doubt he’ll get through to people even if we do end up having a change of PM.

IF (a HUGE ‘if’) people start to feel more secure, have more opportunities and therefore hope, see an increase in disposable incomes, and see signs of increases in investment and improvement in services in their communities, Farage becomes irrelevant.

Sometimes i think Benters has a genius-like talent for winding people up. Its appears effortless and easy for him, fish in a barrel style. You all have a choice on your reactions - if you dispise him, don't react!

That looks good in principle but maybe not in reality.

In the past I’ve accidentally reported a post as abuse and didn’t actually realise much later when I looked into my sent messages on here.

I hope that Phil doesn’t mind me saying this but I emailed him once to apologise and he replied stating that it happens very frequently.

And what you find abusive others won’t (the other way round as well).

Very odd. I think Benters is wrong on this. The majority of people who enter politics do so for the right reasons. The likes of Farage as a shameless grifter is an exception, but what Benters has posted is hardly abuse. It’s also a waste of Phil’s time. Looks like someone thinks the more they report Benters posts as abuse Phil will get fed up and ban him.

Poor form from whoever did that.

I agree, this is one of Benters least offensive posts, still an awful take but not offensive.

I can only think someone has reported it by mistake. I've put several people on ignore, over the years, by mistake.

I agree,
I logged on to downvote but to report for abuse is just ridiculous

unless Benters can report his own comment for abuse, and it's actually the best smoke and mirrors trick to date...

Glassers doesn't seem to have considered that it might've been an accidental report, but then he does like to frequently leap to Benters' defence. He's also one of the last people who should be waving around imaginary red cards and suggesting to Phil how he should run his site.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

It's easily done too. Especially if it's the 25th post of the page and you're on your phone. The abuse button and next page button are very close together and only a fat thumb or jumpy page away from an accidental press.

Perhaps Labour should concentrate on sorting the country out more than keep stressing out over Nigel Farage.

Here’s one for you,it may shock you but all politicians from which ever party are thieving’barstools’..

They are only in it to line their own pockets.

The End.

I’ve down arrowed and ignored people by mistake but not reported abuse. I’m sure you get a message saying “are you sure you want to post this as abuse” or suchlike so you have to confirm it before it’s reported.

apalling comment, the vast majority of politicians are in it to make things better for the country, the world, at the very least, their community. you can argue that they're going the wrong way about it, that they're ineffective or even incompetent, but they aren't thieves.

the few extreme grifters (farage, mandelson, johnson, truss) make things worse for everyone, but they're very much the exception

this is the problem with people who've drunk the kool aid.

when they realise nigel/rupert are a complete fraud (a decade later than most!), instead of owning it, they lash out against *all* politicians.

saying that farage is the same as caroline lucas/jess phillips/jo cox/winston churchill when is so clearly dangerous nonsense, but it becomes their new mantra.

when mps are receiving daily rape and murder threats, trying to debase them to the lowest level possible isn't helpful.

what's the solution?

Educate to source-check and be as sadly sceptical over online content and snake-oil salesmen as it’s necessary to be these days, and in the meantime make every effort to limit the damage caused by people in the thrall of those playing on that gap who are too lazy or gullible to do their own thinking. Though pointing out where they’re deliberately voting to damage themselves doesn’t seem to work in some cases, who are clearly just write-offs sadly.
