Whatever happens I hope it doesn't drag on. Everyone at PR needs to be focused on getting the right players in and how we set up in the Prem.
Highly unlikely that a different manager would have exactly the same views as KM on who we need and how we play.

Just trying to think about it from McKenna's point of view (not whether he should or shouldn't - that's been done to death) but what he should actually do and say if he doesn't want the job - If he comes straight out and says "not interested. I'm concentrating on the challenge here", then that maybe sets down a marker for any future teams interested as to his potential response to them. If he says nothing, as is currently the case, it dampens down extravagant claims from interested onlookers, but must potentially leave the Town players somewhat unsettled with the new challenge just over the horizon. | |

I think he's wise to have set expectations early in his career that no news is no indication either way, frustrating as this not knowing may be for us. Will private conversations with players and prospective recruits be just as guarded? I suspect they're acutely aware of how nomadic their occupations are in the event he keeps schtum with everyone; each Town player is hopefully focused on preparing for the biggest opportunity of their lives to date. Control the controllable and all that.
Hopefully Fulham will be as keen as us to have this resolved early in the window though, as that uncertainty can't be helpful for new targets who may have a few clubs to choose from. | | | |
