Please can you create a new filter that deletes any posts or threads with the mention of Farage.

If not can you give me a way that I can hide them?

Quite honestly I’m sick and tired of coming on to this site and forum to get my Ipswich town news, insights, and discussions that is now being highjacked by people’s political persuasions.

Thanks from Sweden, Uppa Town!!

I don't think the issue lies with Farage per se.

Its a culmination of events that has made plenty of people see who Mark Ashton really is.

That's fair, and good that you admit that personal politics plays a part too, which others with right leaning views don't.

Fwiw I took a view weeks ago that any further grumbling on the matter is pointless, so largely leave it be now.

Ashton is permanently tainted in my view, but he is staying put so not worth me griping any more!

Yeah that’s pretty much where I am. I’ve never been so ashamed in all by time being an Ipswich fan as I was when Ashton cosied up to Farage and allowed reform to use our branded images to promote his hateful politics. And then to lie to us and cover up his involvement. Ashton should have gone there and then.

But he didn’t, and I see little point in dragging it up on every thread where we discuss appointing a new manager.

Same here.

I genuinely thought that Ashton would be gone by now, he isn't and the ownership have clearly decided, for whatever reason that he's the best person for now to protect their investment.

So, I see no point in what has happened since McKenna left of picking up every available stick to beat him with, at times this week, especially with the conspiracy threads against Ashton its all seemed a little desperate.

FFS, some posters on this forum can be really unpleasant and unwelcoming at times

The OP has not asked for censorship. They have not asked for content to be policed by the moderators. Just because they haven't posted much, that doesn't mean they haven't been a member and reader for many years.

They asked for a filter (which means it's something you choose to enable or not), to help them remove posts they don't want to see. Whether this is practical or not, or the existing controls are good enough, or not, this is not on unreasonable thing for someone to post about. If you disagree, you have every right to say so (although why it would hurt anyone to have such filters is hard to see), but in the same way, they have every right to post a suggestion on what they see as an improvement that would allow them to 'choose' what they see or don't see.

Personally I don't see what is being asked for being practical (although there are website content management systems that do allow posts to be hidden when a trigger word you configure in you preferences is included). But there is no need for some of you to lay into the OP, especially since some of the posts have completely misunderstood the original intent.

Would you say that to his face? Is that the language you use towards people who you don’t actually know but have taken against?

You must have spent a good bit of time in A&E.

I can never forgive Ashton for hosting racist grifter Farage and promoting Reform, through ITFC. The fact he then lied to all of us, to save his own face, is reprehensible.

One thing I did suggest in the questionnaire is that there should be a POLITICS tab added, where Football and General are politics-free.

I never bother to go to General. It's basically the same crowd who are saying the same thing, spouting the same politics. Can't be bothered to trawl through that.

Agreed. Like you, I rarely venture into General due to too much politics and intolerance.

If you study enough of them, you realise they are not actually discussions, they are more a device to find dissenters, through either a post that doesn't 100% align or through downvote, and then attempt to get them removed from the board.

....in the questionnaire. As I did last year, and probably the year before.

The problem with the current set up is that if you filter by football only, you miss out on absolutely everything that isn't football. All other sports, music, entertainment, random questions, knob gags, etc, etc.

Surely a politics only option would please everyone?

I can't see how anyone could object.

If I was part of the BA delegation that was screamed at I would for sure do that. BA was tactful enough at least to keep it under wraps then. I would have it on video and made him famous overnight

Look at how he treats the fans. Brings a minder to away games. Chanting profanities about a rival's ex-owner.

Who does he think he is?

And plenty of brainwashed people still happy to suck him off?

Have some backbone and self-respect please
