That's true, but his profile is right for us in this side. Strength, link play, experience etc. We want a focal point centre forward up front, who will work hard, keep possession & create opportunities for the quality coming from behind him on the counter. He'll run the channels & will offer a real option to 'lump it up to' when we are under the cosh. He'll score messy goals in the box too.

There are parallels with Welbeck for me. His numbers weren't exactly great (far worse than Abrahams's) for quite a few years, but his experience has been a real plus for Brighton and he's now playing some of the best football of his career in his mid-30s. Tammy potentially gives us that experience in leading the line and should also be a good asset in the dressing room.

We're still exposed at full back, centre back and right wing IMO. The defensive situation could be sorted by signing someone akin to Greaves or O'Shea; a centre back who can cover full back if required. The Bakwa link suggests we are still looking to strengthen the right.

We are all biased apart from the infiltrating budgies here but good grief this is ridiculous. I'm here thinking kieffer Moore may come back for a swan song and Ashton is after Tammy flipping Abraham. We can be written off all you want but we are putting together a seriously capable team here.
