Lunchtime thread - simple sandwiches 12:56 - May 19 with 1882 viewsDubtractor

Whilst it is nice to have a fancy lunch, sometimes a simple sandwich just hits the spot.

Todays effort is thick sliced ham, English mustard, granary bread.

Lovely stuff.

Perfect timing given I've just sat down to a couple of fish finger sarnies. :-)

Extra mature cheddar and pickle on granary bread.

With a decent packet of crisps. Proper crisps. Nothing like Monster Munch or Wotsits.

Truly impaired.

Toasted cheese, butter and marmite, with the cheese melted in the MW for a few seconds. Mmmmmm.

But how many seconds?
My 800w Microwave will fail to deliver a proper melt at 27 seconds, a perfect melt at 33 seconds to a disaster at 37 seconds.
I used to do cheese on toast in a toaster placed on its side which worked quite well until the owner of the said toaster found out and went mental.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Norfolk cob thickly sliced, butter, smoked salmon slices, mashed hard boiled egg and a dash of mayonnaise.
Devine and should see me through until dinner tonight.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Something simple you say? Well, don't want to be greedy, so just one of these please.

Ham, extra mature cheddar, hot jalapenos on toasted seeded batch.

Melt the cheddar if you have time.

Love a ham and mustard [granary] sandwich.

Excellent choice for the simplest category.

I do like a thick ham and salad sandwich with salad cream if/when I bother to order salad in the shop.

Bit of cured meat and some red leicester slices with some nice granary bread.

I'll throw my hat in the ring with bacon, brie, rocket and cranberry. In a wholemeal baguette.

Not the simplest of sarnies but a stone cold classic.

Christmas sarnies are obviously best though hence why you can only get them for one month of the year.

Yet you can buy tinsel from late August.

That doesn't seem right.
