I like the 7 way format though. All 7 of them ripping into each other is quite funny. Much more well chaired than the ITV debate too.

The Tories are going to target her and try to convince everyone she's a problem. But is she?

Badenoch is even more unpleasant, culture war obsessed and incompetent than Sunak. An equalities minister who openly hates the LGBTQ community. She's a dangerous, divisive loon who would destroy the Tory party. So far that reason, I'm all for her. [Post edited 7 Jun 2024 21:39]

I agree about Mordaunt: didn't I read that she was the one Labour feared? As regards Badenoch, it's interesting that she keeps a very low profile when it comes to media appearances, and maybe it's because she didn't perform particularly well recently when discussing changes to the Equality Act. And as she's on the same wing of the party as Truss, who's to say she wouldn't have gone down a similar route with disastrous consequences. [Post edited 7 Jun 2024 21:45]

I very much doubt it. Their ideology is largely the same, which means we’d still be fecked. Badenoch is arguably far worse. And neither come across as vaguely competent.

I’ve never understood it, but maybe people are desperate or sad and lonely. Character trumps looks imo, and her character is an ugly one.

What’s in your drink? Mordant is a lightweight about to lose her seat - whilst Badenough is a repulsive, self-serving incompetent - recently ranked one of the very worst constituency MPs The blue bloods of Saffron Walden like to think of having the best prime minister we never had in Rab Butler, now they certainly have the worst.

How many people can say they are whiter than white ? Everybody has skeletons in their closet and being a politician if you haven't divulged them they'll come out sooner or later. I won't be voting as I have no faith in any party, they are only in it for what they get out of it themselves and whilst a Labour government may spend the money differently the cake is still the same size.

A plea. Please don't 'not vote'. People died so that you have the right to cast your vote. Whilst you obviously also have the right not to go to the polling station, it says nothing about what you've outlined. Spoiling your ballot paper is a political act; not turning out really isn't. Do us all a favour and go and draw something on the paper or write 'none of the above'. [Post edited 8 Jun 2024 11:14]

That is your opinion. I completely disagree and think they have every right to not vote. People died so others would have the right, not the obligation, to vote. FWIW I will be voting. I just don't like this guilt trip tactic. People can disagree on the best course of action.

Of course - but you have actually agreed with what I said. Not voting is of course a right but it actually achieves nothing. Voting but for none of the candidates causes a mandate issue if enough people do it. [Post edited 8 Jun 2024 13:21]
