Additionally, I remember them making sure they showed the Burns handball last week, when they felt the referee made the right decision, so it's not as though they want to protect the officials.

I think that would be awful reasoning from them. Goals change games - look at Leicester v Tottenham on Monday. Spurs were all over them, Leicester scored out of nothing, and suddenly were all over them.
I reckon, in all likelihood, City would have scored a couple more goals early in the second half to stamp their authority if need be, but that doesn't mean Match of the Day should just ignore it as an inconvenience to the narrative. | |
