Oh Bournemouth. 13:27 - Jul 28 with 8705 views | WarkTheWarkITFC | They are only considering suing Hawkeye according to reports. So if it had given that Sheffield United goal then maybe Villa go on to draw anyway. Why assume they lose with 50 mins left when they’d then need to score. That didn’t relegate Bournemouth. That was Bournemouth and in part Villa taking 7 points from their last 9. [Post edited 29 Jul 2020 11:41]

Let’s see if Wolves sue over that Champions League place. It’s pathetic. You can’t give teams extra points if VAR had changed goals because in some case they happened 10 minutes into the match and you can never determine what would have happened in that match Fair enough if VAR was only used in the 95th minute.

Doesn't that open up a historical can-of-worms around human errors which have resulted in teams getting relegated in the past? Why wouldn't they seek compensation for the human errors if compensation can be made for automated errors? Just because it's automated that doesn't make any error more valuable to the relegated club than a historical human error. SB

I can understand why they would take advice and want to talk to the PL about it. I do think it is a fairly unique case- in that the mistake was not one of judgment as such, it was just utterly inexplicable. I very much doubt that will get anywhere, or will seriously try to.

Oh **** off Bournemouth. on 13:48 - Jul 28 with 4360 views | kizaitfc | They have no chance in winning this case. Villa might argue that the penalty against United for Fernandes stamping on Konsa should be looked at aswell. It was a ridiculously bad decision against Sheff united but mistakes are part of football and will continue to happen no matter how much technology we bring in.

Will they be suing their own strikers for chances they missed, their midfielders for losing possession or their defenders for giving penalties away?! Bournemouth DID NOT get relegated because of that decision. Bournemouth - own your failure you losers!!

I wonder if you said to EPL clubs we're going back to how it was and the decision of the officials on the pitch is what counts whether they'd be more accepting of human error instead of the berating they previously gave them before the introduction of VAR? Although, goal line technology has been a positive addition apart from the blip at Villa.

I have seen no suggestion that they have sued anyone... unless someone can show me differently.

I have not seen any direct evidence or quote of even that. Its all "according to reports".

Such a poor argument. They were good enough, just, if a clearly inexcusable error was not made. Thats life- and you have to deal with it, but to say otherwise makes no sense.

I'd argue you should rely on technology when a human is controlling it and watching it. Are we pretending whoever was in the VAR dungeon didn't see the ball cross the line?
