Just checked the odds (for what they matter), and cook was 5/6 last night, clear fave. Now:

Appleton 7/4
Cook 2/1
Howes 5/2

He may still be free to take over here once the con man goes.

If that makes the Cowleys more likely to take over here.

Thats good news!

RIP Sir Bobby

I don't get the impression that the Cowleys are particularly favoured for the job here.

If we're going peak banter then wouldn't surprise me if Evans did that to spite the fans.

well if there's any residual hope in terms of resurrecting the 5 year or 5 point plan or whatever it was, they don't exactly fit the bill. Cook is more of a marcus type appointment but he'll be appointed elsewhere before marcus gets round to sorting things out.

It's a guaranteed Megson, Coyle & Pardew shortlist with Evans in charge.

Cook has definitely been in the thoughts but obviously now looks to be going elsewhere. Pearson would be a very strong candidate if he's interested and another source has backed up that he's been spoken to. I might be tempted to see him as favourite at the moment but that's assuming he's actually interested.

Harris is another that's been contacted as well. There may well be others, of course, but the four that are mentioned are those that I've heard are in the running and have been sounded out, although to what degree I don't know.

Kieron might be another to add to the list but obviously awkward for ME to start sounding out the U23s coach about the manager's job with the manager still in place.

If the Cowley's aren't in the thoughts, then it's Pearson or Keiron for me, Neil Harris would do nothing to unite the fans IMO, and a key facet going forward will be to start building some bridges with the fans and the local media.

I'm not sure Pearson would be that keen considering his last job was in the PL and he's been struck down quite badly with Covid.

Kieron would be a good choice from a PR and finance point of view, but it's not the greatest structure to be starting out your management career in.

Indeed, would be ideal I think given the job he did at Leicester rebuilding the club.

I'd be amazed if he took the job, but wonder if we chucked a few quid at him, and a fairly long term contract he might be tempted to try and rebuild here, similar to Leicester.

Of course not, they are good a winning football matches. Marcus is not keen on that type of Manager.
