Anyone else like alone time? 20:54 - May 30 with 3566 views | Pippin1970 | Family and friends full on last two days in London on break. Gone upstairs whilst everyone socialising as knackered. Accused of being anti social as need a break lol.

Anyone else like alone time? on 21:30 - May 30 with 2831 views | floridablue | Probably.. as I declined our todays invite to my lady partner's good friend, sons pool side graduation party. Still cost me a 'few' dollars in the congratulations card plus helping prepare her 'too take' dish while attempting to watch some of the Lincoln Blackpool game! Alone time for me.. needed!

Anyone else like alone time? on 22:17 - May 30 with 2727 views | clive_baker | Yeah, I need it. My wife is a social butterfly, I actually had to sit her down once a few years back and have a chat about how many plans we were committing to. I had a runway of about 15 weekends where I didn’t have a single free day. I can’t operate like that, especially after a busy week at work, I need some time to just chill. Since then she’s switched to nhs shift work and we’ve had kids so that’s all gone to pot anyway, but I do need some me time. It’s exhausting being out and about the whole time.

Anyone else like alone time? on 22:23 - May 30 with 2691 views | WD19 | 100% Partner and kids are going to the in-laws for lunch tomorrow. I just can’t face it. There is nothing wrong with the in laws, but my garden is nicer, I’ve been flogging myself at work recently and I just need a few hours to myself. Fortunately my family are used to my antisocial ways.
Anyone else like alone time? on 22:28 - May 30 with 2675 views | Geomorph | I love having visits when I want them. Otherwise it’s just me. Feel for you but a tad jealous at the same time.
Anyone else like alone time? on 22:33 - May 30 with 2635 views | 26_Paz | Nothing wrong with that at all mate. I often need some alone time just to re charge. Usually Sunday afternoons for me. Super Sunday, loads of cups of tea and just chill.

Anyone else like alone time? on 22:38 - May 30 with 2651 views | footers | As an episode of the Clangers had it: "It's lovely to see friends, but sometimes it's just as lovely to see them leave." I'm paraphrasing but you know what I mean. People are great but they aren't half tiring! At the end of the day there's nothing better than closing your door knowing you're not going to be disturbed... And then you can look at that mucky stuff on the internet.

Anyone else like alone time? on 22:41 - May 30 with 2627 views | Swansea_Blue | Euphemism of the week! Yep, very much so. I’m sociable and love being around people, but need my own space too. And can happily spend days on my own doing stuff.

Anyone else like alone time? on 22:42 - May 30 with 2626 views | Lord_Lucan | I love a full house but I also love being on my own, in fact one of the best things in my opinion is going to a pub where you don't know anyone and have little chance of seeing someone that you do know.

Anyone else like alone time? on 00:57 - May 31 with 2414 views | Ryorry | Absolutely. Love one-to-ones with really close friends, or sometimes 2 x 2s when I was in relationships, time whizzes by for those - but any more numbers than that, or any requirement for "small talk" I find incredibly tiring, maybe partly because my hearing's never been good when there's ambient noise. Happy in my own company, which is just as well considering how the last 15 months has been!

Anyone else like alone time? on 07:25 - May 31 with 2253 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Today is me time. Off fishing for the day in a littlw while having been surrounded by the mrs family all weekend.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

My sentiments exactly! I love having a full house of family and / or friends, but equally love sitting in a pub, by myself, where I don't know anyone. It is great to totally switch off, enjoying a pint or 2 and watching everyone go about their business.......but not having to think or discuss anything with anyone.

Carding you for missing a niche Partridge. Just a yellow this time, but miss another and it's an early bath for you.

Also I am lucky enough to travel on business now and again (on my own) and it’s great to just be able to walk around and do what you want without having to think of what anybody else wants to do - although on my last business trip to Amsterdam I bumped into TWTDer Edward Stone who proceeded to get very drunk and was a complete embarrassment (only kidding Eddie)

Indeed. Some people are introverted, some extroverted. If after 15 of months with limited socialising the OP is still wanting his own space, clearly an introvert I guess. :-) No wahala.

Anyone else like alone time? on 18:59 - May 31 with 1635 views | Ace_High1 | Absolutely and I find as human beings we often crave the opposite to what we have in that moment. After a few days with the GF I am craving some alone time to just switch off and chill but after a day I am wanting that company again.
Anyone else like alone time? on 19:03 - May 31 with 1628 views | BlueBlueBluex2 | Love time alone. I recently drove from Ipswich to Edinburgh for work. Company paid for an overnight stay so I booked another night out of my own pocket, took a couple of days off and spent two days sightseeing and on the p1ss on my own. Wonderful city, wonderful company.

I often take a bag of toffees and a magazine to the greenhouse. Many's the time I've nearly been caught masticating in there.

Anyone else like alone time? on 20:36 - May 31 with 1546 views | The_Flashing_Smile | I watched the Championship play off final on my own and it was bliss. Me and Lady Dollers moved in together a week before Lockdown 1, so this was the first time we'd been apart. I think it was brilliant for both of us. It was a pub I'd never been to before. It was a cosy, characterful old man pub, and the barman was really nice. Asked my name, shook my hand and also brought my beer to the table. Got a telly pretty much to myself and he also put the sound on when I asked. People weren’t doing much mask wearing - even the barman wasn’t bothering, despite signs in his bar showing you need to wear one when moving about. But as the afternoon wore on, I started forgetting when I went to the loo. Meanwhile, Lady Dollers went for a walk and ended up wine tasting in our local wine and craft beer shop. So everyone was a winner. It was a lovely day (I also went into to town to watch the Champions League Final with a neighbour and a few of his mates). I drank a skinful... but didn't feel too rough the next day. It was like I was almost full of the joys of (near) normality, and that took the edge off. Lady Dollers said I seemed full of the joys of life by the time I eventually came home.
