Probably.. as I declined our todays invite to my lady partner's good friend, sons pool side graduation party. Still cost me a 'few' dollars in the congratulations card plus helping prepare her 'too take' dish while attempting to watch some of the Lincoln Blackpool game!

Yeah, I need it. My wife is a social butterfly, I actually had to sit her down once a few years back and have a chat about how many plans we were committing to. I had a runway of about 15 weekends where I didn’t have a single free day. I can’t operate like that, especially after a busy week at work, I need some time to just chill. Since then she’s switched to nhs shift work and we’ve had kids so that’s all gone to pot anyway, but I do need some me time. It’s exhausting being out and about the whole time. |  |

Absolutely. Love one-to-ones with really close friends, or sometimes 2 x 2s when I was in relationships, time whizzes by for those - but any more numbers than that, or any requirement for "small talk" I find incredibly tiring, maybe partly because my hearing's never been good when there's ambient noise.

I love having a full house of family and / or friends, but equally love sitting in a pub, by myself, where I don't know anyone. It is great to totally switch off, enjoying a pint or 2 and watching everyone go about their business.......but not having to think or discuss anything with anyone. |  | | |

Also I am lucky enough to travel on business now and again (on my own) and it’s great to just be able to walk around and do what you want without having to think of what anybody else wants to do - although on my last business trip to Amsterdam I bumped into TWTDer Edward Stone who proceeded to get very drunk and was a complete embarrassment (only kidding Eddie) | |

Love time alone. I recently drove from Ipswich to Edinburgh for work. Company paid for an overnight stay so I booked another night out of my own pocket, took a couple of days off and spent two days sightseeing and on the p1ss on my own. Wonderful city, wonderful company. | | | |

I watched the Championship play off final on my own and it was bliss. Me and Lady Dollers moved in together a week before Lockdown 1, so this was the first time we'd been apart. I think it was brilliant for both of us.
It was a pub I'd never been to before. It was a cosy, characterful old man pub, and the barman was really nice. Asked my name, shook my hand and also brought my beer to the table. Got a telly pretty much to myself and he also put the sound on when I asked. People weren’t doing much mask wearing - even the barman wasn’t bothering, despite signs in his bar showing you need to wear one when moving about. But as the afternoon wore on, I started forgetting when I went to the loo.
Meanwhile, Lady Dollers went for a walk and ended up wine tasting in our local wine and craft beer shop. So everyone was a winner.
It was a lovely day (I also went into to town to watch the Champions League Final with a neighbour and a few of his mates). I drank a skinful... but didn't feel too rough the next day. It was like I was almost full of the joys of (near) normality, and that took the edge off. Lady Dollers said I seemed full of the joys of life by the time I eventually came home. |  |
