It's going to be interesting what happens next year, when hopefully Covid is not affecting exams to the same degree.
Calls for standardisation to be reset to 2020 exam grades is never going to happen though, as is being asked for by a few prominent commentators

Maybe it indicates that judging someone’s abilities is better done by taking several things into account rather than how they perform over ninety minutes in a pressurised environment.

Not sure if education has recovered from Gove's tenure - but Badenough is a cast iron certaainty to be utterly inept - so you can relxx in the knowledge that education in this country is utterly shafted too | |

I would say, from direct experience, that moving to online learning has forced students to engage with their learning and be more independent, rather than spoon fed by teachers. Many have reaped the rewards of this, some others have sunk without trace but there is an argument that this is actually a better reflection of capability.
Certainly for those that have succeeded, the experience will stand them in good stead moving forwards. |  |
