Have we covered Johnson's shambolic speech yet? 13:00 - Nov 22 with 5981 viewstractordownsouth

I've just seen someone on Twitter claim watching this will end imposter syndrome and I think I agree.

I once was an event at which Mr Blair gave a speech on a relatively arcane piece of public policy.

No notes. No autocue.

I did see an episode my nephew was watching the other week where all the kids dress up as countries and then go to the playground. It features the line "The United Kingdom is on the slide".

Maybe that's what he was referring to.

Precisely this.

It's got everyone talking about Johnson's speech, as opposed to tomorrow's vote on the Health and Social Care Bill.

F**k Johnson
F**k the Tories
F**k anyone who voted for them
Doubly f**k anyone who intends to vote for them again

Will they, though? He's still doing an outstanding job of distracting the public from the matters that should be receiving scrutiny.

Don’t think I won’t be in here in a few weeks reminding you all that I warned you about Priti Patel. You ran May out who, while an ignorant robot, was not an international embarrassment like “Boris” is. Think very hard about who comes after, before you do the same to the current moron.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Oh for sure, the options for who's next are truly horrifying. Not that 'we' on here can do much about that. Besides, it was the crackpot ideologists in the ERG group combined with May's spineless failure to deal with them that saw the end of her imo.

you've fallen into the trap of using the word 'shambolic' to describe him. he is the first politician in history to own shambolic as a term of endearment and respect.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Healey was due to deliver a speech and the civil servant he had been rather hard on gave him a copy to read.

As he began his speech he turned the page and it said "you're on your own you $%&@"

Top quality sh*thousery . Must be an ‘interesting’ dynamic between civil servants and MPs. Yonks back when I was doing overseas development stuff, I’d often end up at embassy bashes or just spending a few weeks hanging out with embassy staff. You got the feel that it was very ‘them versus us’, with the politicians waltzing in under the spotlights and then büggering off to leave the work for someone else. Lots of rolled eyes and sighs, but I never did get any real gossip - credit to them I suppose, and I was young, not that interested and too busy making use of the free bar!
