Honestly, when Brighton come down here last month and started signing that … what a bunch of idiots. A club who have spent a considerable amount of time in the Prem, multiple top half finishes, spent an absolute fortune (albeit they’ve raked in decent money also), have played in Europe … and they resort to signing that. |  |

Yes I agree with the op. Unfortunately singing at matches is mostly about getting one up on your opponents in a schoolboy kind of humour. I bet anybody who sings 'football in a library' have never even heard of black lace.

They’re football chants, a ‘working group’ before hand isn’t usually required with them.
They could have sung “big Frank has got no arms” immediately before the give us a wave chant for him to not respond.

I agree with what you say about Norwich references in that chant, but as irrellevant as they are to me, you can't escape they're our oldest rivals.
FWIW, I always belt out the first line. To hear that sung as one always sounds good.
