Lost a Blue today... 17:03 - Apr 12 with 4011 viewsGunnsAirkick

My Dad passed away through complications with his Kidney Cancer earlier. I really don't know what to do but am glad to say he was surrounded by family. Everyone on here was so supportive when he was diagnosed in November. He loved our club and we were sharing memories of him and my Mum attending the '78 F.A. Cup Final the other day. I'm going to the Newcastle game on Monday, he would have wanted that. I think we're going to get hammered but it's fair to say he thought a lot of Sir Bobby! If any of you get a chance give a few quid to Macmillan as I can't stress how good they were to my Dad.

Awful news, GAK.

Both your family and the blues have lost a good one.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

Very sorry to hear that.

The best you can do is spend time with the rest of the family, try to remember good moments from his life (or funny ones) as well as grieve. And probably dig some clips out of some of the football eh would have seen too.

My condolences.

Have a very similar story about my father, having lost him at a very young age. He also followed through out the European days. I'm lucky enough to still have a picture of him and my mum with the Uefa cup and his FA cup final stub, both of which I cherish more than any other possessions.

I also have similar thoughts on Macmillan and the fantastic care he received generally from our NHS.
