Seeing as we are approaching the presidential debates, and with the actual election being only 42 days away, maybe we could keep this as a US election megathread for those on here who are interested? One location for all the discussion would prevent multiple threads clogging up the board for those who don't care to get involved?
Personally, the reality of having to experience this election in the near future is stressful AF so if anyone else wants to get stressed together... Jump on board.
Now, insert all the usual caveats about polling here but...it's looking positive that we will be rid of Trump come 2021, much to the disappointment of a couple of posters on here. 538 are well respected in the field of poll analysis so what they announce should be taken seriously.
Of course their analysis doesn't take account of any election fraud, Russian interference, voter suppression etc. But it's positive news none the less. Once Trump is gone, we can work on Johnson. Decent people of the world... Unite!

More evidence that the GOP views anyone who doesn't vote for them as the enemy. Deranged.

Some of the final A+ larger sample polls released this morning. Arizona +6 is huge as there's been a lack of decent polling in the state.
Wisconsin +11 also makes me more comfortable that Biden has Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin sewn up. At this point it's looking like Biden has multiple paths to victory whereas Trump is needing that perfect Screwball Scramble run that improves on 2016s result. Possible... But getting more and more unlikely.

It's the 8 per cent not saying that you should worry about. I fear Trump will win.

It'll probably come back to bite me but I'm not too concerned about undecided voters. It's different to 2016 when most undecided voters broke for Trump.
1) There's been no Comey style October surprise. 2) Trump is running as incumbent so that takes away the 'not knowing what he's going to do' line of thought. People know how he governs. 3) Coronavirus. 4) Massive turnout already. Can't find the link now but I read earlier that in 2016 9% of voters were undecided, in 2020 it's 5%.
I'm sure a portion of undecided voters will go to Trump, but I can't see it being as significant as in 2016.

I've not been keeping up with this thread that much for my own sanity but that is crazy.
Ha, funnily enough keeping this thread going and having a place to vent is the only thing keeping me sane.

And the police are surprised why people turn against them. Pepper spraying people in mobility scooters now #MCWB

Was Biden in the bus?
No, it was a bus of staffers.

even so, I hope they get protection now (ridiculous that they need it)
It was reported to the police while it was ongoing... And they did fook all.
The police are complicit in this kind of thing. Police are a gang. Defund police.

Undecideds swung it last time, but they're a much smaller pool this time. Almost every poll has Biden on over 50% nationally and in many swing states. Not impossible he flukes it again but it's a completely different environment.

I'm amazed at the turnout so far too. Like you say, Trump has a chance. 10% chance is still a chance. But it'll take a series of long shots all coming good for him to get there.

Trump has two chances
1. No farkin chance
2. Absolutely no farkin chance
and this will be the song that defines the final result, as far as he is concerned

Complacency could yet play a part if enough Dems think that it is in the bag. Or as Jonathan Pie puts it...
This almost made me cry with laughter last night. Here's some thorough analysis from a Trump supporter about why he'll win 406 electoral votes, including in Colorado, New Mexico and Connecticut.
The 'formula' is to add 10-15% onto Trump's result from last time, because of factors including Antifa, Nancy Pelosi and Brett Kavanagh.
I love how this bloke thinks that the Kavanagh confirmation (something that happened before the midterms, in which the GOP were beaten by 7% nationally) will be a major factor in this election.
I've bookmarked the tweet just to see his reaction on Wednesday.

(Apologies if this has already been posted)
Pie was really good when he first came on the scene and his video about why Clinton lost in 2016 was brilliant - I even saw him live a couple of years back. But now his act is getting a bit stale, it's just a revolving cycle of blaming left wing supporters and not left wing leaders for their parties' defeats, with the occasional anti-Tory rant thrown in.
His stuff definitely plays a role - he's given me food for thought on occasions and still releases the odd funny video but it's getting a bit predictable.
