Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum 10:34 - Dec 2 with 20614 views | SitfcB | What a to€€er, how condescending, “the forum”, it’s more than a forum ffs. It’s a NEWS SITE, with a forum as part of the site. “Fanzine” Phil isn’t a fanzine, he’s a journalist, writes for this site and local newspapers. “We have a relationship with the forum, and the person that runs the forum” “We’re disappointed it’s got to this stage” “There’s been one or two things that have happened on the forum, that obviously the manager hasn’t been happy with” “It’s worth while noting we’re the only club in the EFL and PL that does allow a fanzine to attend matches and press conferences as a member of the media team” “The person we are speaking about is a fan of the club and works very hard, we want to have that relationship, but it’s got to work both ways” “There are some issues we need to iron out” “We are sure this issue will evolve in the next and up and coming weeks”

They're taking the piss with these half-arsed put-downs. The irony is that you respond to their petty childish bollox with all the dignity and professionalism that they lack. Pricks. |

Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum on 12:10 - Dec 2 with 3835 views | Herbivore | I think, rather depressingly, I might well be completely done with ITFC. I'm certainly right on the brink. The club is rotten to the core and is not the same club I've supported my whole life. The manager appears to be a rather nasty piece of work, Evans just doesn't care, and O'Neill is happy to defend it all. Nobody at the club has the fans at heart. I don't know that anyone has much care for the players either. It's all about preserving the hierarchy. If ever a football club epitomised these modern days of Trump and Johnson, it's ITFC. Feck 'em.

Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum on 11:12 - Dec 2 by PhilTWTD | Thanks. It's also worth pointing out that I have a press card and have worked as a freelancer for other media since 1996, currently for the Colchester Evening Gazette. But for the pandemic I would also still be working for the BBC. I'm also an NUJ member. I dispute the 'fanzine' or 'fansite' tags as what I don't write myself is written by other professional journalists, who we pay, most of whom have written for national newspapers, same with photographers. In hindsight, we probably should have changed the name of the site when it became the mainly news site to something more newsy. |
As a serious point Phil. Have you got the NUJ involved in this as yet? This is what you pay your subs for.

Yeah, depressing ain't it. When I used to tell people that I support Town, most people younger than 60 would just look at bit bemused and ask, 'Why?' I'm not sure I have an answer for that anymore.

Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum on 12:14 - Dec 2 with 3796 views | TieDyedIn95 | The facts the Evans administration cannot see what a stupid move this was PR wise shows you just how detached they are. Evans deserves the bullets over this one, not the puppets. He either is absolutely stupid or doesn't care, both are equally bad.

I'm not quite there yet, but not far off. Wrote earlier that I'm almost at the stage where a phoenix club created & run by fans would attract me more. I bought into ITFC back in the 70's because of how the Cobbolds ran things. All that good spirit has gone under ME.

Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum on 12:20 - Dec 2 with 3757 views | Illinoisblue | It’s so laughable. Of all the things wrong at the club they choose to go to war with TWTD. Tell you what LON, you fix the sports science dept so we don’t have an entire team out injured then you can come back and moan about what’s written on a message board.

Same. However it feels we're kind of done in this regard, and may never be genuine rivals again. Not while Evans has anything to do with it.

Just realised a funny bit I missed out on the first time I read the quotes. "We have a relationship with the forum" Do they? Since when? I've never, ever seen them engage with the forum, at least directly.

It really only is blind loyalty and hope that is keeping me interested at this point - if I removed the emotional attachment I have, I don't think I would have a logical reason if I was being totally true to myself as to why I'd continue to go to match days when things reopen fully (not a ST holder).Especially as it seems a Covid/Brexit induced recession is around the corner so the purse strings will have to be tightened. If they start losing loyal, diehard fans they won't have anyone left before they know it - why would any kid choose to support ITFC? You'd have to be mad too...

Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum on 10:51 - Dec 2 by footers | As Phil said t'other day, it's not even TWTD; it's just Phil. If the problem is with the leaks on the site, then why still allow freelancers for TWTD into pressers? It's personal and I'm really not sure why. Phil hasn't been more critical of the club than anyone else at the moment, has he? Maybe I'm missing something. |
Phil has spent a not inconsiderable (see what I did there Phil? Your classic double negative) amount of time setting people straight on the forum when they've been unfairly critical. Lambert is just a prick. This whole club becomes more of a joke by the day.

Lee O’Neill quotes for bangate and this forum on 13:00 - Dec 2 with 3514 views | haynes_toe1 | I've always defended Evans to an extent because despite him generally being useless he has had to foot the bill for that. However not stepping in and ensuring Phil was apologised to and everything brought back on track is disgusting and negligent towards the club and fans. I've not really attended games for some time and there were seasons I barely paid attention but this forum actually helped me form some sort of level of interest again so to see it treated with such disrespect is hard for me* *even if i have been called a Norwich fan on several occasions.

That’s painful to listen to - after his dismissal of Phil all I could get from that, reading between the lines, is Lambert could remain as manager even if we fail to make the top six. Shocking as shows the lack of respect from those at the top of the club towards those who support it. If they thought the drop off in fans would be bad had Mick remained in post then they’re going to get a horrible shock next season if the league we’re in and the tensions remain.
