....is that if (massive if) there is anything in it, there is this immediate assumption that it's a good thing.
I can remember fans waving £50 notes at Norwich when Evans turned up, say no more.
I guess the question is, do we fix the club to make the team better, or do we fix the team to make the club better?
One of those things needs to happen.
My view is that 2 decent appointments, a manager and a CEO, from Evans would go a long way to solving our problems.

I agree but we have to be realistic. Evans has shown no signs of delegating power in his time here and he has got it disastrously wrong. What makes us thing he's going to change in the next decade or two?
If you knew Evans was going to stay here for the next 20 years and refuse to change strategy would you be more keen on taking a risk? I just don't see Evans going or delegating power any time soon. Any new owner is a risk. I can't think of any new owner who would get a positive reaction. We're all so down beaten after Evans' reign that we just expect things to get worse. If this rumour was about a random billionaire, a consortium or any other individual/group I think we'd have the same feeling of doom.
Our luck has to change at some point surely? At this point I think karma owes us a Champions League win. Or two. |  |

It's understandable for sure. But even if there were something in this, then people should be cautious about what an investment firm is looking for in a mainly loss-making industry. ME may be a bit potless for such a rich fella, but his heart's in the right place. Venture capitalists don't tend to have those when it comes to the bottom line. |  |

There's no money to be made unless we're in the Prem. If we eventually got established in the Prem and they took £20m a year so what? Compared to what we have no it's way better.
Disagree about Evans' heart. He bought us as an investment he would have happily cashed in on. It went wrong and he's refused to take the loss so we've all collectively suffered for it. There's no sign he's going to change 'strategy' either. | |

Because it’s hope.
If Evans stays, I have no doubt we will keep falling through the leagues every few seasons. If he goes, there’s a chance that the new bloke will be someone who cares. Someone who actually cares about this great club and we can slowly rebuild back to being the football club we know. A club with a soul.

He will not change. He's been a terrible owner, not through malice like Blackpool or Bolton but through sheer incompetence. As the guy from the Telegraph said, we're a unique case in that we've just been let to rot rather than the owner deliberately ruining the club. |  |
