I'm more persuaded it could happen today than I was yesterday from some conversations I've had. That's not to say it will definitely happen, of course.

Well, I'm pretty certain if the latter happens then the former will follow if it hasn't happened already.

The main thing that concerns me is that.... on 14:06 - Feb 25 by Bloots

....is that if (massive if) there is anything in it, there is this immediate assumption that it's a good thing.

I can remember fans waving £50 notes at Norwich when Evans turned up, say no more.

I guess the question is, do we fix the club to make the team better, or do we fix the team to make the club better?

One of those things needs to happen.

My view is that 2 decent appointments, a manager and a CEO, from Evans would go a long way to solving our problems.

(caveat, yes I know this is Evans)

I’ve read this before about fans waving £20 & £50 notes in 2007, the reason fans did that was in retaliation to Norwich fans doing it to us when we went bankrupt in 2002!So not necessarily to say how well off we were!!

Do you mean you're more persuaded today than you were yesterday... or do you mean you're persuaded it could happen TODAY?!?

I'm guessing the former, just wanted to check.

....I'd rather Evans just immediately appoints a competent CEO with a proven footballing background, then tasks him with binning Lambert and appointing someone half decent.

Then that CEO can concentrate on running the club for the better.

Selling out to some random pretzel eater doesn't feel sensible at the moment.

I don't disagree, but after 13 years what do you think the chances of it happening are - Evans has shown himself to be totally incapable of making good footballing decisions and a smarter person could have spent half what he has and improved us

These guys at least showing some demonstrable success in the sporting arena - and if we are part of a multi club strategy, by being in England we invariably become the top of the chain.......no one would ever have thought Watford we put above Udinese by the Pozzo's but the PL is the place to be

But why aren't they buying Bristol City already in the Championship? The more I think about it, the more plausible that seems.

Because Bristol City have a stable, wealthy owner already in Steve Lansdowne.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Evans has had enough of us (the fans) so it could get to the point where the money is more important to him that our long term future.

Absolutely. If I were him, putting in £6m each year, making loads of mistakes, but trying to do my best, and I was initially of the view that I was a custodian of the club who wouldn't sell to some dodgy consortium, my resolve in that respect would be exhausted by fans shouting "Evans out" with no idea of what should replace me, or how, and seemingly more concerned with getting rid of me than the latest lame manager. If fans seemingly don't care who replaces Evans (as long as he goes) why on earth should he care?

Given Evans has had 13 years here and done pretty badly throughout there's been remarkably little "Evans out" noise from fans until relatively recently - and even then the greater criticism is still reserved for the manager.
