In my lifetime it has to be Cristiano. Henry was pretty great too. I'd consider Xavi probably the best midfielder. I know he played full back but Ashley Cole was the only player I've ever thought was indisputably the best player in their position on the planet.

Don't know about the best but Henry was my favourite to watch. He made scoring goals look so easy.

Completely agree with Cruyff. His impact on football as a whole is unrivalled. Ajax and Barcelona wouldn't be the institutions today without him and Michels (Barca and La Masia are a shadow of that at present).
Cristiano Ronaldo is a pure athletic freak and a phenomenal footballer (not on par with Messi for me though). Certainly one of the greats of modern times.
I think you can also make an argument for Iniesta and Lewandowski. I'd also highlight the likes of Maldini and Seedorf for remaining consistently at the top of the game for over a decade.
