THE TAKEOVER IS DONE 20:38 - Apr 3 with 135511 viewsgreyhound

Happy Easter one and all.

Hold on to your hats and refresh every 5 minutes throughout Wednesday and Thursday, the deals been done and completion confirmed.

As Paul Cook hinted we are in for a very exciting summer. Its dragged on but now we can focus onwards and upwards.

Being a Town fan really is depressing, innit.

If that had been me who'd traipsed up to Rochdale on Easter Monday to watch that, the Club would've been sold for a fiver today. Evans' persistence is truly baffling.

Oh well. Best to kick back and chillax in hope for something better next season.

I could have easily been a United fan. Family in Manchester battled for my football soul sending tickets and shirts etc. I chose Town...

Actually I don't regret it. This club could be something truly special. When news of the takeover first broke I actually thought wow I might see Town win something reasonable in my lifetime now. League or FA Cup etc. The hope was back. Then it was taken. Now it's back.

I can't take another disappointment. Make him sell footers.

Truly impaired.

I must admit that I was surprised when Brenner said that Evans was at the game. Perhaps Phil could shed some light on how many away games he has attended this season. To travel to Rochdale on Easter Monday, and with Covid still an issue, to watch a match if you are completing the sale of the club in a couple of days time, does not really ring true

More shots than the "0 on target" after 40 mins yesterday? (from BBC site).

I'll need more persuasion than vague promises like that!

We have to believe greyhound, the takeover is going to be announced tomorrow or Thursday.
Evans went to the Rochdale match to say his goodbyes to the players and staff.

Might be wrong, but I seem to recall Evans lives in Ireland. If so it wouldn't be much of a trip for him, probably a private flight to Manchester. Don't think he'd have been on the coach from Suffolk 😁.

With so much going on (possible takeover, contracts, season tickets plus Cook being fairly new in post) it could have been a good opportunity to discuss it all face to face while taking in a game.

LOL. Why does he need to go to Rochdale to say his goodbyes? Could he not say them at Portman Road?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

This could be the reason why he went. By all accounts he has a "debrief" with the manager after each game so rather than wait till today or tomorrow to speak with him over Zoom he decided to go an see him in person to let him know the news. Admittedly we could just be clutching at straws and hoping this is the case. We will see what tomorrow brings.

You're clutching alright

I'm guessing there are adequate meeting rooms and venues in and around Portman Road / Playford Road for all to convene and for ME to say his "goodbyes" .I doubt very much he'd drive to Mecca otherwise known as Rochdale to say his cheerios to less than half the playing staff

As much as I'm excited about all the guff surrounding a potential takeover there aint half some premature ejaculators around

I think he is largely based in London, although he is ,I believe, resident in Ireland for tax purposes.

If he's retaining 5% he might just have wanted to watch the match. Potentially he just had nothing better to do as we're still in partial lockdown.

His attendance tells us nothing.

That’s definitely incorrect.

He lives two doors down from one of my best mates. He lives in Chelsea. I have to walk directly past his house to get to my mates house.

Haha. I want to say something so desperately right now but it’s just not wise for a public message board.

My mate from chelsea lived with me in the first two years of uni and cokes to Cheltenham each year now. But yes one of his two houses is in Chelsea. And two doors down from him is Marcus Evans house.

Tax exile in Ireland according to Wiki. Still has houses in Chelsea and Kingston Upon Thames and a manor house and estate in Cornwall. If he's a tax exile he can only spend a limited time in the UK each year.

"cokes to Cheltenham"

I'm assuming this is a typo and he's not the son of any Colombian millionaires...

I have no idea what the maximum amount of time that Chelsea house is legally allowed to be occupied for before its tax fraud but he definitely lives there at least some time during the year. And he doesn’t rent it out when he isn’t there.

Worth saying that I’m obviously not accusing him of anything.

He's at a lot of games, he was at Portsmouth and similarly held a meeting with PC.
