Why do the Scottish hate us so much
When I was growing up i also supported Scotland cheering them on as my second team
It was only when I started working in Scotland I realised how much they hates us, was in Pub in Glasgow watching England and the hatred was at a different level
One colleague told me they supported ABE ie, anyone but England.
I guess there is a lot of Hatred particular in Glasgow full stop with the whole Rangers Celtic thing.

I think I can speak for the vast majority of Scots who don’t hate anyone, let alone English people. But who are never that upset if England and the idea of Englishness (including that strange Anglo-centric version of Britishness) come a cropper. |  |

The hate that exists is due to historical reasons - but not ALL Scottish people hate us (and a lot of the people voting in the referendum aren't Scottish anyway).
Also, not all people are into football, and its tribalism.

My parents are Scottish, I was born in Canada, and I spent most of my childhood in Ipswich. At the 1970 World Cup, when I was 10, I supported England, and in 1974, when England didn't qualify, I supported Scotland, but I couldn't persuade any of my classmates at Northgate to support them. I felt there was an element of jealousy because England hadn't qualified, so from that moment on I supported only Scotland, and as I grew up I began to further appreciate my Scottish roots.
As regards hatred, I think it is just a typical football thing, much like the Ipswich/Norwich rivalry. The hatred, if that is it, is of the England team, rather than England itself. |  | | |

I was reading some Ally Mccoist preview article and he was saying that they used to have England vs Scotland training sessions back in his Rangers days. Apparently Souness always used to make up the numbers on the England team, which none of the other jock players could fathom. So maybe he doesn't hate the English? I thought Souness played his panto role well, and who was happiest at the final whistle? Genuine question because I changed channels immediately, which I always do, but last night with more rage than usual.
I didn't think he looked ill, just different, not just age but his features, however, I would assert he is a handsome man, more so now than when younger.

I’ve been to Scotland a few times and they’re ok but the only time I’ve actually felt welcome is in Glasgow Indian restaurants (best curries in Britain). They loathe the English. It’s as simple as that.
