Graham Souness hates England 09:26 - Jun 19 with 10277 viewsonceablue

Why do the Scottish hate us so much

When I was growing up i also supported Scotland cheering them on as my second team

It was only when I started working in Scotland I realised how much they hates us, was in Pub in Glasgow watching England and the hatred was at a different level

One colleague told me they supported ABE ie, anyone but England.

I guess there is a lot of Hatred particular in Glasgow full stop with the whole Rangers Celtic thing.

By the way Souness looked a very ill man apart from his very very very obvious false teeth was Waiting for Wrighty to make a teeth gag!!

So they voted for independence right?

Oh no hang on they didn’t

A majority of Scots voted for independence. Nearly three-quarters of other Brits living in Soctland voted against, and that swung it.

When it comes to football, I can’t stand any home nation. I want them to lose every game. Makes me happy when they lose. Childish, I know.

Because much of the country is populated by self-entitled racist little Englanders.

I probably should have mentioned it was over 20 years ago in my original post, I may have saved myself from the backlash! 🙂

That's good to hear, maybe we will give it another try one day - it's a beautiful City!

I’ve ran into a few problems in Ballycastle but I’ve only been there during The Llammas Fair and it’s fair game then as every dick from miles around descends on the place, that said, the vast majority of people went out of their way to be more than welcome. Been to Belfast a few times and only had one bad 5 minutes in a fish and chip queue but I soon realised that I had drifted to the wrong side of the track — and even then a few people tried to stick up for me.

Scotland, haven’t been to the place that much but have spent some time in Glasgow and Edinburgh and I have to say the locals went out of their way to be extremely hospitable, without exception. I cannot remember one bad instance. Lovely people.

Oh, I just remembered struggling to get a beer in Belgium once but that was a week after Heysel so fair enough.

I can honestly say wherever I have been and people realise you are English I have always been treated with fantastic kindness and everyone wants a chit chat.

Not sure why or how people have had bad experiences, I am firmly of the belief that you can go pretty much anywhere and if you are courteous you will receive the same favour back. When I was in Edinburgh I drank in some right dodgy places in Leith, I was up there for two weeks and we got on so famously that they threw a mini leaving party for me and my then business partner when we finished our stint up there - that was 25 years ago as well.

Spoiler alert: Every country hates England. I guess it's a bit like us and Colchester in the fact that England don't really care about Scotland, but us Scots hate the English, as you're our actual local rival. I for one cannot wait to see England knocked out.

Just not true.
There are a number of high profile vocal sectors of certain Countries. I travel in the Balkans and Eastern Europe and they have absolutely no issue with England and the English, same in vast areas of Asia.
Everyone is Any One But England around here but most have family in England or connections through marriage or worked in England and their is no real hatred to English people.
There is hatred to the English establishment and what it did but most see the ordinary English person as a victim of the ruling establishment as much as their Country was. They wouldn't be far wrong in that view.
There's hatred
