I mean, there is merit to the concern. Fan got injured last night then that nobber at Charlton. I want safe standing to come back so very bad, but the only way it will work is if people don't get hurt as a result. |
Yep safe standing or just standing as it used to be called, would be great. Alongside the complaint about Bolton, seems issues big and small will never get ironed out though |  |

The rushing to the front thing is a bit weird for a mid table lg 1 game, it seems that celebrating goals has become a bit of a competition. |  | | |

I would say my security search to get in last night was more stringent than airport security checks.
I suppose I'm not bothered if it stops things coming into a ground that shouldn't do but it did seem a bit extreme. And yes the kit the security/stewards (or whatever they are supposed to be) are wearing is not good...it's intimidating rather than giving a 'come and ask me for help if you need it' vibe.
Enjoyed the game, and we were in good voice but nothing particularly special about it for me other than an excellent 3 points as ground wasn't really one for atmosphere. [Post edited 26 Jan 2022 13:50]

Not sure if anyone else spotted this, but one of the stewards (in a red jacket) was bringing what looked like hot drinks to a couple of people in the designated seating / limited mobility fans section. Couldn’t help but think that was a classy touch as he did it with a smile.
As for the goal celebrations…. genuine question, but when did it become fashionable to sprint down the stairs whenever the team scores? Can’t remember it always being that way?! |  | | |

You'd have done well to get the 10:30 - I got to LST about 11 and got the 11:30 - thought about getting a burger but the crowd in MacDonalds was a bit too numerous to risk so got some grub from Tesco instead.
Had a nice trip home in 1st class though! :-) |  |

But whoever it was dropped it on the floor and it was kicked to the aisle where it bounced / rolled slowly down the steps to the front.
We were stood at the back of 114 on the end of the row by the aisle. |  |

I had friends down near the Wimbledon singing fans and they were saying we were pretty quiet. Maybe a little noisier after the goals went in but we weren't that loud throughout in my opinion. Decent enough modern stadium but not stand out for me. Well constructed to have the away fans have a private route to Earlsfield - reminded me a little of Millwall.
We were 1-0 up I think when they had their chap go through one-on-one on goal and I was in the middle of chanting 'Oh when the town...' by myself and I could hear it on the Sky Sports highlights so we can't have been that loud.
I also assume the 'Wimbledon is a s***hole, I wanna go home' was sung ironically? Or are we not imaginative enough to drop that chant?
On plus notes I saw fans quick to help a fan up who fell over on the walk out of the ground (he had a walking stick). I also saw a kid queuing alone for a pie & bovril (good lad) at half time and only had a tenner on him. The lady said 'card only' and another fan didn't think twice and tapped their card to pay the £7 for the lad. Nice touch. |

I assume that you know that Wimbledon is one of the most expensive areas outside of Central London. I say that with tongue in cheek, be cause Wimbledon dog track was situated ina pretty run down area. | | | |

It was the security company that was particularly bad. Many had balaclavas on and were clearly spoiling for a fight. Wouldn’t happen in any other sport - i wish I’d taken a picture. |

Well I was there & I didn't think they were. It was particularly cold & the wearing of balaclavas was a sensible move & doubled up as face masks. Not all wore balaclavas where I was in area 112. I didn't think there was any evidence they were spoiling for a fight. If anything they didn't do enough to protect the disabled person in a wheelchair who was caught up in the 'wave' for the 1st goal & had to leave straight after. They did better stemming the crowd for the 2nd. They spent a lot of the game asking people not to stand in the aisle. Much more of a hands off approach than hands on. |  | | |
