359 votes to split for/against Johnson.

I'll predict

Johnson 252
Against 104
Non votes 3

(Which I reckon means he limps on for maybe 6 more months much like May did before they get the knives out for the final kill)

My favourites are the ones with sub-5k majorities who still think he's an electoral asset. They're going to get a nasty shock in 2023/4.

I genuinely don't understand how Tom Rhyming-Slang is so complacent about it, given the swing-y nature of Ipswich as a seat.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Actually a normal PM wouldn't have broken the law in the first place.

Or at least, wouldn't have been caught doing it.

Check out the absolute state of some of the comments made on Facebook on Mark Murphy's post.

One bloke suggested (others agreed) that if Boris has to resign because he broke the law then every other person in the UK who broke a lockdown rule should also lose their jobs.

Because Kevin, who works in Curry's PC World and had two mates round when it was only supposed to be a maximum of two people, is clearly held to the same standards as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the man who came up with the actual rules.

Just incredible. I always thought the more you earned and the higher up in a company you were, the more was expected of you. Apparently not, so presumably Teachers are now able to get away with more than the 5 year olds they teach in this blokes world!

I wouldn't get too furious at it (hard not to I know), but when I've looked at those kind of responses on twitter, the majority are either from obvious bots, new accounts or paid stooges with only a handful (if that) of followers.

Very, very few are from genuine ppl, and they tend to be dyed in the wool con party members who are constitutionally incapable of changing tribe.

I do hope everyone has taken into account the number of MPs who will not be able to get to Westminster to vote because the Tube is on strike...

Possibly worth noting that by lunchtime on the day of the May vote she had the backing of 180 MPs. Boris had 91 at the same milestone. Currently it's 101 MPs backing him.

Probably means nothing but does seem to indicate MPs aren't running to their Twitter accounts to support him at the moment. They might still support him but don't seem to want it out there in the public domain at the moment.

I suspect quite a few had deeply unhappy constituents in their ears at Jubilee parties over the weekend.

SB

Seems Boris is still more than 50 confirmed votes off being safe and they vote in 40 minutes. May had them all in the bag by 1pm. Still likely not going to matter but he has also just told Tory MPs that he would do all the same things again with regards to Partygate which apparently hasn't gone down well at all with other MPs.

Supreme arrogance.

This is Tory MPs we are talking about, I'm not sure that you could muster three who would qualify.

If there are only 80 who want him gone he is finished, as they dont have to do anything but abstain during any attempt at passing legislation in Parliament

If only 40 vote against, he is finished

the problem in that scenario is ' control', as it passes to the opposition - they decide when he goes

I make you wrong.

You underestimate the thickness of much of the populace.

Various local community SM groups I am a member of are full of posts such as the ones you state are on Twitter and they are real people, not bots unfortunately.

MP saying it is already above 150 against

Anything over 100 makes his position difficult; 150 is almost untenable no matter what Hypocrite Rees-Mogg says, who stated Theresa May should go after winning her confidence vote 200-117.

I think the vote will probably be around the 100 mark - maybe just under. One of those votes that almost leaves everything in limbo.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

0
Boris vote sweepstake on 20:10 - Jun 6 with 815 viewsXYZ

I think he may have lost this. Serious deficit in public declarations of support as far as I can see - and some of those will be "false positives".

Fascinated to see his game plan if he's lost it. He may play the "fine, elect a new leader of the tories, I'm still the PM" line.

Speculation not a prediction just in case those TWTDers that maintain databases of other posters' views get too wet.
