A bit sad on here tonight 20:52 - May 12 with 7328 viewsgtsb1966

A team who gets 96 points, 10 more than the team in 4th place and who have no bad history with us at all, yet some are taking great pleasure in them losing. Grow up ffs.

If you look back i tipped peterboro to win the play offs. I just don't get the Wednesday hatred. So many people on here thought Notts County were hard done by but not Wednesday.
[Post edited 12 May 2023 21:19]

I get that.

Do you think many of their fans would be rooting for us if they had got 3 more points and we were losing 3-0 to Peterborough? There is something about the more vocal of their fans and the way they have behaved at matches which means I don't have anything like the empathy I do with Notts County.

It really is an assured performance from Peterborough too. Playing some good football.

Feck 'em. Cheated us out of a win in September. Lauded over us on social media in February.

Not to forget almost castrating McGoldrick, and another awful challenge the year after which went unpunished and led directly to their winning goal IIRC.

Dont think there's any sadness on here at all. Most are just enjoying a great game of football with a funny outcome. We're probably also all thinking, in a parallel universe this could be us and we're very happy its not.
We endured 4 years in this horrific league by the way, this is their 2nd.

No sadness from me. I’ve seen our lot in eight play off ties with that one solitary success and even that was after three games that aged me years. Let somebody else have a dose.

Part of this is there by the grace of god go us. Let’s face it however far ahead you finish in a season one bad night in the play offs and ouch.

One thing I notice is that Wednesday look the old team that they are at the moment - but there’s still an awful long way to go.

Threw missiles - Their fans didn't care
Scored an offside - Their fans didn't care
Having a player elbow our player in the face twice - Their fans didn't care

Them missing out on 96 points - I don't care
Them losing to posh - i don't care
you telling people to grow up - i don't care

Odd that you feel so strongly about it.

I couldn't really care less either way.

And their fans being absolute turds all season.

Crying about Burns giving evidence.

Darren Moore being cocky enough to say he wouldn’t take second place.

I don't hate Sheffield Wednesday, there are just 80 odd clubs in the league that I prefer to them.

Ta for reminding me of that. So Smith and his mates got a right old good hiding tonight. A real old fashioned pasting. I’m not bothered one bit.

Felt a bit sorry for them until I saw their January thread where they were laughing at us imploding and calling us bottlers. Think they call that Karma innit.

They deserve to go down for their treatment of Moore - even calling for him to be sacked whilst top of the table. Even Frimley isn’t that edgy.

Their hatred for him before tonight was totally irrational- I swear some of them would have liked to lose rather than get promoted just to get him sacked!

I would hazard a guess most replies are from people who never go or why else prefer Bolton or Barnsley to Hillsborough. That's probably most on this thread. For the ones who do go but can't stand a bit of hostility from a home crowd...don't go then rather than whinge about it on here. See you all in August

A bit of hostility from the home crowd is aggravating chants and a tense atmosphere - not throwing missiles.

... throwing missiles in order to successfully intimidate the match officials, cheat us out of 2 points, plus con an extra undeserved point for themselves.

If real justice had been done on that day back in Sept., we'd have finished on 100 pts & them on only 95.

True justice done today instead, serve 'em right.

Not to mention their forum being full of snide insinuations about *us* cheating (oh the irony); & some of their critical comments stemming from gobsmacking ignorance - couldn't even get basic facts right.

You're the one whinging about some pretty tame comments toward Sheff Wed on a forum, and storming off until August because of it. If anyone can't hack it, the evidence is pointing towards you.

This OP is mad - genuinely can't get my head around it. There has been a rumbling rivalry between us and SW all season.

- the behaviour of their fans at Hillsborough
- The miles offside goal
- Michael Smith giving it the big un in front of the North Stand when scoring
- The Burns elbow incident and their fans crying about it for weeks afterwards
- The fact that they are just a pound shop Rotherham that tried to bully their way through games
- the ongoing arrogance of a large section of their support (won the league in Feb etc)
- Crying about the ref change game

Now, none of those things have particularly upset me personally and you won't find too much crying from me on here at the time of those events, but bloody hell it does allow for a bit of a chuckle when we then see them bottling it when it comes to the crunch. And I bet they would be doing the same if the boot was on the other foot.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
