You wonder if Ainsworth will still be around by the time we play them. Probably yes as they can’t afford to sack him.

He’s not the only one, but safe to say Dozzell is not loved there.

That bloke hates Andre doesn't he? I guess as we've been there though we know what it's like. AD must be emblematic of everything that's wrong there, a player who doesn't fit into a side at all, managed by someone out of his depth and making a real mess of it and not a pot to p1ss in.

Seems the issue, from Clive's point of view, is Dozzell has enough talent but puts in little to no effort.

Tbf I think he despises most of their squad, not just Dozzell. Appear to be a club heading only one way.

Many great lines. This one about the whisk made me laugh out loud.

After being beaten 3-0 at home by Sunderland last season I wrote the Mackems brought a bright, young, creative, attacking team to Loftus Road, furnished by a clever and purposeful recruitment operation that’s brought together an exciting group of promising prospects from Premier League academies, Europe and Latin America, while QPR brought a big bucket of sh*t and a whisk. It seems this season we've even dispensed with the whisk. It was a brutal, horrible experience watching them get systematically taken apart like this

These bits made me laugh out loud:

and

"...I couldn’t help but wonder exactly what on fcking earth the manager was doing. “We set a trap for Watford”. Did we? What was that then, lull them into such a comfortable sense of security that try and play the second half with four players for a giggle? Let them punch us so repeatedly, for so long, they eventually get tired and have a little nap?...Bart Simpson did more homework on his Libya project than we’d seemingly done on the hosts."

I’ve a quite large bet on QPR to go down at 11/4. Think that might be printing money.

Mad as box of frogs though the Rangers owners are, they won’t sack him after two league games, especially in their financial situation.

That said, I fully expect him to be back at Wycombe by Christmas.

Me too, but there are couple of others — his description of Ainsworth at Wycombe “getting Michelin stars from Sugar Puffs” and their defender being made to change his shorts “presumably because they were caked in sh*t”.

Bucket of sh1t and a whisk was a line used on the 'Thick of it' (series 3 I think). Absolutely legendary for one liners that show.

This particularly made me laugh:

‘Every week a new low. This is how Custer must have felt - just when you think it can't get any worse another load of sodding Indians turn up.‘

As for Dozzell, he’s not just getting hammered by Clive Whittingham. Most who post on their forum appear to feel the same way about him. I’d add that he was getting pelters when other managers were there, not just Ainsworth.

Maybe the QPR supporters are just not seeing what Dozzell has to offer, but regardless, it’s a big season for him.

But what does Dozzell have to offer in the senior game? There’s seems so much that he doesn’t have to his game that overshadows the fleeting ability to find that one, through the eye of a needle, pass that he might offer in a game. I feel sorry for him tbh, because at a club like QPR, the fans will be far more vocal about their players than was evident at Ipswich. FWIW, I don’t think he ever hit over that cruciate injury he sustained just as he was making that step up into the senior game.

The injury set him back for sure but just as big an issue is that ever since he got fit he's been at clubs and under managers that are absolute basket cases. Came back under Hurst, then had Lambert, then Cook, now a mess at QPR playing for a manager whose tactics are the opposite of how Dozzell naturally plays. He has to take some responsibility for not kicking on, of course, but he's not exactly ever been put in conditions that would help him to develop.

Not an ideal attitude to have towards gambling in my opinion. There’s always risk and never get cocky enough to think you can rely on your own ‘expertise’.

Never bet what you can’t afford to lose.

Judging by his time here if the opposition stood back and watched him play then he could hurt them. As soon as a tackle went in on him however he became anonymous.

If he gets his type of players in the door I think he will keep them up. As we know his teams are hard to play against and he hasn’t got the players to suit his style of play. It might already be too far gone for him to salvage it.

He did deserve a chance to try and make a step up but if you appoint a manager like him, with a playing squad that’s suited to a more technical game you have to give him time and let him bring in his types of players otherwise it’s a waste of time.

He did rate him as 2/10, so could have been worse. Although I think you get one point for appearing and a second for being in the correct QPR kit, so probably not something to shout about.

My personal highlight

"For Queens Park Rangers, Saturday, and you fear the next nine months, was, and is, a trip heading entirely downward, at ever increasingly frightening gradient and speed. A journey being attempted in a bin, on wheels, on fire, destined to end goodness only knows where by May but certainly no place good. The pilot’s wearing cowboy boots, and says it’s all going to be fine, but this is a guy facing the Siege of Tenochtitlan armed with a mop and a saucepan on his head. It is the farthest thing from fine."
