The injury set him back for sure but just as big an issue is that ever since he got fit he's been at clubs and under managers that are absolute basket cases. Came back under Hurst, then had Lambert, then Cook, now a mess at QPR playing for a manager whose tactics are the opposite of how Dozzell naturally plays. He has to take some responsibility for not kicking on, of course, but he's not exactly ever been put in conditions that would help him to develop. |  |

If he gets his type of players in the door I think he will keep them up. As we know his teams are hard to play against and he hasn’t got the players to suit his style of play. It might already be too far gone for him to salvage it.
He did deserve a chance to try and make a step up but if you appoint a manager like him, with a playing squad that’s suited to a more technical game you have to give him time and let him bring in his types of players otherwise it’s a waste of time. |  | | |
