He is exactly the sort of player you want to have in your team. Great work rate, physical, athletic, good 1v1 defender. He was really starting to look like a Prem player in the championship in his last few games with us. Just too many off the field questions to be relied on. Hope he sorts himself out.

He's on a free now. If he's prepared to play for peanuts while he demonstrates he can put his issues behind him then I would be glad to have him back. I know this is the umpteenth time I have said this.

Would love to see him back - if he has sorted himself out. Its easy to see why KM wanted to bring him here, he must have known about his issues, and hoped that getting him to Ipswich would give him a fresh start. He took the boy out of Manchester........

Only way I’d accept him here is on a pay as you play. Make him earn the trust, and the wage

I'd have him here, no need for a 'pay as you play' deal, plenty of opportunities to put break clauses into the contract. If he can get himself sorted out, his resale value could be high. Wages will likely be low, not too much risk for us, and I'm sure KMc will fancy his chances of being able to get him straight.

However, isn't he due back in court again?

Almost seems like a 'come and get me'

Did seem to fit in here aside from the obvious, I'd have absolutely no problem with seeing him back here if McKenna thinks he can get him sorted.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Could he come back? Would Kieran trust him?
I would have him back, no problem. 2 year deal with obvious clauses if he messes up. With Kieran here and his ability to change players, I really do think he would be a free transfer from heaven. Totally solves our RB issue and could potentially save us a small fortune. Can't be on the reported £54,000 a week he was on at Utd, but if he can turn this around, we would have a hell of a player on our hands. Lots of IFS, BUTS and MAYBE though.
Bring him back I say.

From all the evidence we have of McKenna we so far do not have any that he can deal with problem players. That's not to say that he can't, just that I don't understand this narrative stated by a few. On Williams is definitely give him another go. Pre Issues he had been shaping up to be our best player for a short period.

I hope he gets his career back on track. We have such a small margin of error next season that for me it would be too much of a risk bringing him back.

I trust KMc on this one. If, big IF, he can overcome his troubles we need him and he showed us just what he can do for a few weeks last season.

I'll start by thanking Brandon for his post and for his contribution to our season. His part was short but he definitely made a difference, before unfortunately the things that occurred. Purely based on playing ability he would be a good addition to the squad as he clearly has premiership pedigree.

However I for one would unfortunately have to say no to a return.

This team is based on trust. We've been so successful because of the culture we've developed at the club.

We can't have players that we can't trust. And I just don't think we can trust him after everything that's gone on.

We're a band of brothers and we rely on each other. I wish him all the best and really hope someday he fully exorcises his demons, but with what's at stake next season I think that ship has sailed unfortunately.

It is a Yes from me.

Get the issues Brandon has, but they preceded his time at Ipswich - I read his driving charges relate to August which would have been just before he signed for Ipswich no?

So, wanting to see the good in all and a believer in second chances, I'd take him back at Town on a reduced contract obviously. If he come and knuckled down he would be an asset. 1 year deal with a club option of an extension.

I don't think anyone could disagree with this poster; however I would just add, with limited funds because of FFP, some risks might be considered worth taking. There was also a rumour that we might be interested in the player that has had his contract terminated with Spurs because of injury.

We have recent history regarding injured players, good players picked up for nothing other than wages.

Sometimes you have to gamble, by all accounts Williams has a lot of ability, with the right handling, with the support that he appears to need if the rumours are correct, he could be a risk worth taking.

The club cannot afford several £15,000,000 players, we have to be realistic in expectations.

As far as the current first team are concerned, the players know there will be changes. There might be a greater difference in salaries for example. We cannot expect to sign premiership players and expect them to earn the same wage as current first teamers.

His statement would suggest he's fishing, he might not have his contract renewed by MU. I think a large degree of humility on his behalf is required, eat some humble pie, then you can never say never.

We don’t know him or what has happened; really (don’t wish to - it’s his ITFC and MUs business).

One to trust the club and KM on. Whatever it does, it mustn’t compromise on its standards/ culture. The right temperament and desire to fit in is every bit as important as footballing ability.

Not adverse to the idea of him coming back at all

We’ve all been young , all done stupid things but for the most on here never been young and stupid with copious amounts of money

Of course it doesn’t make it right but perhaps just needs reigning in and who else best to do it but Keiran and the team

Yeah he can come back . From a selfish point of view relatively inexpensive due to his own misdemeanours you’d have thought , great player when on it and seemingly fit in quote well initially
