Same here. Got the right amount of arrogance/self confidence, whatever you want to call it!

Im not so convinced this is a step forward, but I will gladly admit I'm wrong if he comes and does a good job.

When we were discussing fees and players the other day, this is the sort of deal and price that seems more in the sweet spot.

Really exciting tbh. Class player.

Must be close if Phil is reporting it like that.

He’s always looked class against us! 6m + add ons seems a steal given the prices you see other players going for too.

Must admit, I am on the fence with this one.

29 at the start of the season, played most of his career in League 1.

I hope I'm proved wrong.

Hopefully we'll get a couple more guys in with Prem experience.

Last season is very much an outlier for him, but hopefully it will continue to an extent.

Someone I’ve always felt would excel in the way McKenna sets us up.

Harness being pushed closer to the door as well one would imagine, if he wasn’t already.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Personally, I am not the biggest fan of this signing (if it happens), but I think we could do much better. My worry is that last season was an anomaly. I was hoping we wouldn’t go in for him at all, honestly, but I’ll Keep an open mind, and in McKenna, we trust.

He also picked up a knock already, which could be a complication if he missed much preseason

Slightly underwhelmed too. Can’t see him starting many games but I guess he’s a different option off the bench who can fill in anywhere in the forward positions.

Also McKenna hasn’t signed many flops so if he wants him I guess that should be good enough for the rest of us really.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Really good player, fluid as well with him being able to play multiple positions.

£6m looks a good price for him.

Good business if we can do that one.

I don't think he's a JP replacement, surely? Szmodics has played the bulk of his career as the central 10. Surely he's competition for Chappers?

MIDDLE 10: Szmodics/Chaplin

Best player in the Championship last season for £6m. Yes please. Bit older, but with a point to prove and will be confident after last season.

Competing with Hirst for the central role or Chaplin in the 10?

Yeah I don't think this shifts the dial greatly re our chances of staying up, but I have wanted us to sign him for years and he clearly improves the 25. At the very least he'll be an asset next season lol.

I'm also very optimistic we won't be knocked out by a rival bid here, which makes a welcome change!

Saw him at Center Parcs a couple of months ago - I bottled asking him where he might be off to though. Big fan of the Sports Cafe.
