How about a triple marquee signing! Rashford, Alli and Mason Mount. Build a team around them….

Maybe not. I know some people love a big name because it makes them feel their club is now big time, but I don’t. I’ve seen Rashford play. All two minutes of it before he put his feet up for the rest of the game. Moody, slow and disinterested, he was a passenger.

Mason Mount? Well we’d need another treatment table but he did look slightly disappointed when he went off Sunday. Don’t know why, he’s still collecting his dough and United looked no worse after he’d gone. He’d done nothing. Dele Alli - who? Oh yeah, good player once upon a time. A long time ago.

So was Geoff Hurst. I wonder if he’s still got his boots?

On a serious note, no hasbeens, pensioners, dead beats, injury raddled, troubled souls please. Bar lack of another forward, the signings were all the right type for me. If we are going to bring a couple in, these type of players will do for me if we can find and afford them. Phillips isn’t paying off at the moment but it was a good gamble/signing at the time and he may work out yet.

But please, not a player like Rashford. He’s being unloaded for a reason - let somebody else pay the bill.

Why would we want to? Doesn't strike me as a McKenna type player (hard working) or fitting into our system (strong driving through, makes own chances).

Regardless of whether this is genuine or not, I see him very much a McKenna type player. Basically a Premier League upgrade on Kayden Jackson.

I can see a reality in which he starts wide right with Delap up front, then the two of them swap positions at various stages of the game which would confuse the opposition.

People saying his attitude is wrong, is this the same player that was showing up the government for there poor treatment of children over school meals a few years back ?
Yes his head might not be in the right place but if KM wants him and thinks he can sort him out it might be a deal worth doing. As someone else said 16 weeks at £100k is a snip if it keeps us in this league.
He is a good age has talent and it’s a win for us Man U and the player if it gets him a good move in the summer.

Nobody is questioning what he’s done outside football.

This is all about for £325k a week would he add anything to our squad? How motivated would he be taking a massive step down and moving across the country?

Hasn’t McKenna got enough to do without having to stir into life a bloke who when I saw him play a few short weeks ago did so little his kit didn’t even need a wash. He just didn’t look interested which for a supposedly top player representing MU is not a good look.

If he wasn’t a ‘big name’ that everyone so loves, he wouldn’t even be discussed, especially by those who saw his …..efforts…first hand. I wish him well. Elsewhere.

Whilst I believe Mckenna would get a tune out of him and he would have an impact, I can't see it for a couple of reasons. It would cost us a lot and we'd have nothing to show for it at the end - you could argue survival is worth it but I don't think he alone would ensure that. Also it's easy to underestimate his self worth. Would Rashford see himself as an Ipswich player? I doubt it. I think it far more likely he sees a top European club as his next destination.

Can’t believe the negativity about him here.

Top, top player. Pace, experience, creates and scores goals, and could play in multiple forward positions.

And he wants a new challenge. So we could be a top fit for a few months to re-build his confidence and put himself in the shop window for the summer.

And all of that for potentially just a few million.

Obviously we have no idea re his real attitude. Maybe it’s shocking. But if it’s not, and it’s all about the Man Utd circus, an amazing signing.

Is there? can’t see it. I’ve seen the one about leaking dressing room stuff, going out and moody, but not what he’s done in bravely and intelligently challenging and pinning the last government.

I love me a bit of Rashford. If Ashton sanctioned six months wages it would be great. He can play any of the LW/CF/RW positions. Come on, lots of huffing and puffing here but even in a down week he'd be a huge upgrade on Burns/Johnson on the right or Clarke on the left. And if we are struggling for strikers, it would make a lot of sense...

Worth adding that if the rumours of terminating Phillips contract in January resurface, the money saved would help towards a loan of Rashford.

Unbelievable that the comments are that he doesn't fit our style, like that's what's preventing the signing.

Of course he isn't signing for us, but if he was for some reason preferring us to PSG, we would certainly be able to accomodate him regardless of 'system' for crying out loud

Not the same. Phillips had a mid table loan last year and struggled. United would have to pay £250k+ of his wages and there would be loads of clubs interested. PSG have wanted him for years.

Still dint see the harm in having a conversation on how he’d fit in if it happened. It’s all harmless fun.

I’m still intrigued as to who the player we put in an audacious bid for on deadline day was? Rommers had some inside info at the time.

That doesn't mean every outlandish suggestion will come true.

By that logic we're signing Haaland and you can't say it's not possible.

We have Ali Al-Hamadi as our second choice striker and you wouldn't take Marcus Rashford? Levels.

Guthers isn't comparing the quality of Ali Al-Hamadi vs Marcus Rashford though is he? There are other strikers out there!
