Suggesting that Delap may be open to a Jan move to Chelsea...

https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/news/liam-delap-seems-to-have-changed-his-mi

Can't see why we'd consider this given what's at stake for us with trying to stay up. He's going to get offers at the end of the season regardless so he can bide his time.

Makes me wonder is this how we're able to be going after so many players though? Hopefully not...

Absolutely no chance we'd let him go in January unless he was refusing to play. He doesn't seem the type.

I'm sure he would be open to it, but going to take an incredible offer for them to get it over the line which surely won't happen

We'd pretty much be giving up if we sell him in January. I think he goes in the summer regardless but doing that now wouldn't make sense.

Fee has to start at something close to the equivalent cost of relegation you'd think, so can't see it going anywhere.

Yes, seems to be an excitable fanboy site dressed up a respectable outlet. Lol at them claiming to have a “team of experts”.

Exactly, everyone has a price.
If Chelsea went bonkers and offered £80m not a chance we turn that down.

But again, not a chance an offer like that would be made

To be fair it's amplifying something reported from an actual journalist (albeit one who does a lot of agents' bidding).

No way will we sell for any price unless we have a replacement lined up. To sell otherwise, even for a ridiculously high price would be suicide.

I would imagine every one of our players would be open to a move to Chelsea in January.

However, as with any transfer, all parties have to be open to the transfer, and unless there is a huge transfer fee involved, I can't see us entertaining anything this window.

Bids should start at 100million. Still think he’ll end up at Liverpool as soon as they can offload Nunez.

And if Delap carries on scoring and possibly win an England cap then his price will go up and up.

If a big club comes in for him and offers him ridiculous wages then I wouldn’t blame him at all if he decides he would like to leave.

Yes Delap has done well, yes he looks good, yes his overall game is excellent, yes he's scored eight goals in a team third from bottom. Has he done that for more than one season ? NO. I think it's more likely that if he is up to 15-20 goals at the end of the season then a substantial offer would come in. If say a Chelsea were to make an offer now I fear it would have a lot of clauses in it with a low initial figure say 30-40 million with add on's which could see an ultimate figure of, again a guess, of around 60-70 million. So not really in Town's favour. But we will see. The big question then would be who replaces him, the time for them to get up to speed, to fit in the system. We don't have that time. Therefore unless it's an offer we can't refuse then we need to say he's not for sale.

Why not turn it down? There's no financial pressure to sell.

It would be commercially bonkers to cash in with half the season to go, do you think he'll be worth anything less in the summer?

Delap's valuation is only going to increase between now and the end of May.

Would be utterly illogical to offload this month and therefore make our return to the Championship more likely.

People seem to think our American owners are cut from the same financial cloth as previous Town owners.

They really are not.

You're probably right, but there isn't any value in us entertaining that sort of offer.

It's a rubbish site and pure clickbait. Club have said he isnt going - I'd suggest they are slightly more reliable. Why would he go to that car crash of a club and not get regular football when he can play week in week out under KmK.
In terms of funding new players - that comes from our backers

Not sure that would cut it given that he’d still be worth a significant sum even if we do go down - think you’d be talking more in the region of the equivalent cost + £40m

So in short, not a chance
