Would he want to take Omari with him? Brentford pay 40m for the two.

Now is probably the worst time to take the Spurs job having just won a trophy. Yes I get CL footy the stadium, the pay rise etc but let's be honest he'll do exceptionally well to still there in two years time as opposed to likely having the Brentford job as long as he wants it.

That said Brentford selling their best players so he may feel he's taken them as far as he can.

I don't see that KM's performance last season warrants a move to an upper half prem team myself and it would likely destroy his career if he takes an Mbeuno and Wissaless Brentford down.

Big gamble for both managers in my eyes if either were to be offered the roles but having said that both will see it as a step up.

And what about Bazza?

Ashton needs to go straight to McKenna and say if the offer is on the table would you go, if yes, get rid, don’t want another pre season of uncertainty, then scurrying around trying to sign players. Piss my pants if he took it and relegated Brentford.

State of this. Incredible that someone's given it an uppie.

Your statement makes no sense in so many ways.

So we sack mckenna and pay a huge amount of wage compensation because if approached he may like to take another job.

Without even giving him time to think it through.

Comes with the territory of having a good manager.

I guess it's better than having a rubbish manager than nobody wants!

Brentford is clearly an attractive proposition given where they are but it’s a tiny club isn’t it. I think if he’s turned down the likes of Brighton and Palace, and been in the running for Chelsea, maybe Man U, it would be a slightly odd choice.

I hope he stays. However, Brentford is a big step up for him, but also a really good stepping stone for one of the jobs he really wants. A solid year with Brentford and the likes of Spurs and above will be knocking at his door.

You are right. He’s one of the best young coaches around and will be in demand.

Established premier league. Premier League structures all in place. According to the interweb (hardly reliable) the club is valued at £400m. We are valued at £250m.

Bloated on Premier League steroid money, they are a step up as of now (the big bit is a little tongue in cheek and of course there’s more to a club than paper value. Just chucking a rock in the pond), but the fact is that it’s far easier for him to keep them up than it will be ourselves, should we get back up, simply because of the £££ distortion and the time they’ve spent in that division.

If you were him and after say the Man U or Chelsea job down the line, you’d surely consider Brentford as a stepping stone wouldn’t you? Ok screw it up and it’d be bad for him, but if he’s confident and ambitious why not try?

I’d also add that if we start the season poorly, I can see our owners getting edgy. Then where would he be?

All idle speculation based on utter nonsense in the media because we (esp me) doesn’t know his wants and how clubs and the football manager merry go round works.

Nothing in it is my best guess.

Very true. See also the moaning about us selling a striker for “only” 30million. We’ve come a long way. Unimaginable turnaround, really, from the Evans era.

It certainly would be for next season. This season, whatever. The season where they’re an established PL team and we’re in the Championship.

I could see the appeal, but then I can’t see him allegedly knocking back Spurs and Man U and then go running as soon as Brentford come knocking. That makes no sense. His reputation won’t have taken that much of a knock (everyone expected us to be relegated) and he’ll be back on the radar of the big teams if he gets us back to the PL.

Brentford isn’t a big club it’s minuscule, it is wealthy on Sky and international tv money though and KMck might like a tiny club to help his next step or see himself another year or two at ITFC. Either way appetite for a rerun of last May / June is not there for me!

I think Thomas Frank has taken Brentford as far as they're likely to go, so a move to Spurs would be a good move. If Kieran McKenna, leaves we'll survive, we existed before him and will continue to do so. We'll be a very attractive prospect for any managers out there, we've got excellent owners, a strong CEO/Chairman, money to invest, new training ground being built. The club is thriving, even though last season was football wise bloody awful. This football club, it will survive.

My gut feeling on this is he might actually be too rich for them. Whilst a step up currently in terms of division and where they are as a club. Isn’t it around £12 million release clause and a £6m annual contract. One of the best in the division last season… not sure what relegation clauses a manager would have mind. Correct me wrong if anyone knows differently but it will cost them substantially to get him out. Agree it obviously can’t drag on but suspect it won’t happen again and he’ll be here come August.

I think Frank is reported to have something like a £10m release clause so could well be the case that one cancels the other out if they do try to get McKenna.

Que sera, sera. It's not worth worrying about. Frank hasn't even gone yet.

Don't Brentford have some "moneyball" strategy or has that been replaced now they're an established PL team?

McKenna might not want to have that system.

Too many what ifs. If it happens it happens. But as others have said, make it happen now, not at the end of July.....
