Some of us on here need to chill out. He's probably one of our better players so is likely to go. BUT i'm sure we're under no pressure to sell under and valuation/clause so if the clubs stump up the money then he's off!

EDIT: He looks pretty creditable from his account.

I think we'll only sell him if someone meets his release clause, and if they do that then that's a good fee for him at this point. It'll be sad to see him go as he's a quality player but the release clause and lack of pressing need to sell mean I'm not fretting too much over it.

If he were to go (which I really, really, really hope he doesn’t) our preferred route has to be for him to go to Germany and smash it to pieces and go for mega money down the line.

Only control the things you can control. Relax, have an ice cream and stop worrying as there is nothing you can do. Trust our management team to keep us in a good position. Fixtures in 2 days. Look forward to that.

Give him a new contract like Dara and promise him the earth.

Do not let that man leave this football club.

On top of that, I get the feeling that Omari is the sort of bloke who might choose to stay if he's assured KMc, O'Shea etc stay, plus signs of strong investment to build a powerful push for the PL next time.

He'd be very justified an quietly backing himself to be the main man next season (playing 40 odd games and not getting stuck on a bench) in the Championship and if it goes tits up for us he'll be 22 with bags of experience and with widespread demand for his services.

I said to my boy that he was the one player I didn’t want to lose. Love him. But….. he wasn’t that good was he… done well in some games, lost in others. He’s end product will need a huge improvement if he is to take the next step. I think he can do that but £35m, if correct, is very good money. Doak, Fellows would soften the blow. Or perhaps a Dutch winger, maybe.

I think he'll go.

...and if we get £35m for him, then I'm more than comfortable with that. Its the model our club (and most clubs) is based on.

A couple of years ago we would have jumped at having Philogene and Clarke on the wings.

We get 35 million, a decent profit on one year.. and we re-invest and hopefully we recruit well. Isn't it what we should be doing to push ourselves forward a step at a time?
If we get stand-out players- they'll be off. Pity that we lose our best players, but we've been in a position not long ago where no-one wanted our players ( because they weren't very good).

Of all our players he is the one I most want to stay. But £35 mil is a fair price. I hope he stays but no slight on anyone if he goes.

As is always the case, when a player is linked with this number of clubs it is almost always the agent trying to drive up interest.

Also very strange to say 'Been really impressed with his displays out here in Slovakia for the U21s' as if that would have moved the dial at all vs his Premier League performances against senior players.

Pretty obvious case of wanting to fit a click bait article into the news cycle.

I think we can put this in the speculation category.

Ogbene, Philogene and Burns are all credible replacements. Don't want him to leave, but we have quality replacements, so no need for panic.

I think given the money we would get we would go back into the market for a replacement.

No need to. If Ogbene can get and stay fit, he looked really good in the little we saw. I would be disappointed if we didn't give those already here a chance to prove their worth.

I agree. McKenna likes options off the bench. With 35M we could really do some damage in this window. I’d expect Brentford to have some cash soon from United. Suspect the 35m release clause to be hit tbh.

I kind of expect him to go.

Player trading is the way we were told it would be. Buy young, sell on for a profit. Delap and probs OM are perfect example of the clubs model.

Both he and Burns are coming off significant injuries that could impact their biggest asset: pace. There's also a chance they won't be fully fit to start the season — and that’s without factoring in age. Chieo is 28, and Wes turns 31 in November.

Philogene, the only other who can play RW also coming off a fairly sizeable injury ...

We should definitely be looking at bringing in another body IMO

Think Liverpool are asking £30m so doesn’t feel likely on Doak, not sure how they think he is worth that though

Not sure I agree. Hutch is currently playing left for the U21's and plays as a 10 a lot for us. Ogbene isn't a direct replacement and as good as I hope he is he's clearly not on the level of Hutch or even the level below or he would have gone for a lot more money.

I'm almost certain we would be in the market for a Fellows or Doak or someone else from a PL academy with upside.

Not sure people are going to get a chance if we can improve them and have the funds from player trading. They will be vital to the squad though and we need depth.

If he goes for 35 million I'd be sad but not unhappy. This is the model we're developing we're going to lose players we fall in love with but if the team progresses then it's all good. Not great as a fan but hey that is where we are at these days. 35 million will be a more valuable sale than Delap giving us considerable headroom.
