Morsy leaving Kuwait SC already…? on 08:36 - Sep 23 with 3674 views | Swansea_Blue | If true, then weird. But then there have been some high profile players who’ve gone there and regretted it. That League’s got a bit of a reputation for overselling itself and over-promising. I’m sure the money was a factor in tempting him, but personally I’d have stayed put here. You can’t buy what he had here.

Presumably only after the next transfer window opens. Or clubs could make free transfers between themselves by releasing/registering players like this.

Good point. You could do swap deals and totally bypass the transfer windows and the tax man. Roll on January!

They can only do that if they've left a squad slot available already. I don't think you can remove someone from your registered squad once you've submitted it, until the next window.

There will be clubs who have not named a full 25 man squad.

But don’t think he becomes a signable free agent until January in this country.

Yes, can't join another club until the transfer window.

Surely he can be persuaded to wait 3-4 months, not as if he needs the money! Sign him up in Jan.

At 34, he's going to find it a challenge to find a new club at a high level. Couldn't see him coming back to Town but who knows. It's a funny old game.

He won't be coming back. Reading between the lines, the higher-ups at the club weren't necessarily disappointed to see him leave. Given the lengths the club is now going to in order to make money (match worn shirts, anyone?), Morsy being allowed to leave on a free certainly doesn't align with the club's current commercial policies. Give him a 3 month coaching contract in the meantime

Doubt it, by the sounds of it, his agent has been looking at Middle East clubs for a while, I can imagine another Middle Eastern club possibly in Saudi will still have a look at him especially if he’s not allowed to sign for an English club.
Morsy leaving Kuwait SC already…? on 09:17 - Sep 23 with 2365 views | Rsj13 | In an ideal world we'll sign him up to train with us, start his coaching badges, bring the leadership and discipline. Can then take a view if he wants to join the 25 in Jan...? I'm sure he still has some administrative links to Suffolk, and seemed to like the area, so if we offer him that, then there's a chance? I loathe the idea of him playing against us (but wouldn't hold it against him!).

The Kuwait league was such a low standard, if he wants to live in a Muslim country and play at a decent standard he can only really be looking at Turkey [to an extent] in Europe Saudi, UAE or Qatar in Asia [but Saudi a long way ahead] Egypt, Morocco or Algeria in Africa

Yep, this is the unfortunate reality. Reading between the lines, Morsy was sent off in a recent behind-closed-doors friendly as well as this recent league game. Sounds like the club weren't impressed with his ill-discipline. Some of their fans have also said they didn't need a ball-winner in midfield as their team was already so dominant in their league. Strange move all-round, sadly.
