| Turned out to be a c☹️☹️t! on 17:57 - Jul 28 with 1314 views | ITFC_Forever | My brother was a lighting engineer for some of the biggest tours of ten years ago before he got ill and it claimed him. So second-hand from him: The Take That lads: all very nice, friendly etc, especially Mark Lady Gaga: Quiet, but pleasant and polite. Big entourage. Mark King (Level 42); Top bloke, arranged a collection for my brother when he got ill (he was working for them at the time). Beverly Knight: Nice. Noel Gallagher: Had a good laugh with him. Robbie Savage: Nicest guy to the crew my brother ever met, which really annoyed him as he hates RS as a footballer. Tina O’Brien: Very flirty. Holly Willoughby: Exactly as you’d expect, Rolling Stones: Also nice, Bill Wyman (I think) gave him a model pirate from some film he was in at the time Madonna: awful. One of his favourite gigs he did regularly was entertaining the troops abroad, towards the end of a tour of duty, those in UK bases abroad would get a comedian, band and a “forces sweetheart” visit them, and they needed lighting and sound engineers to go with them. For the forces lads, it was usually the highlight after being away from home for months, so they would be on their best behaviour on the lead up to it to make sure they weren’t banned. The visiting entertainers and crew would be treated to food and drink in the Officer’s Mess, then after the gig, the lads would take them out in town / their bar, and also take them up in jet fighters, show the local sights (eg penguins in the Falklands (etc). He loved doing those forces shows. | |

David Quantick: Patronising, egotistical pr!ck with all the self awareness of ...well... nobody good. All the members of Echo & The Bunnymen except Will Sargeant, who was wonderful, as was Miles Hunt of the Wonder Stuff. Oh, and Ted McKenna of SAHB, MSG etc. Great story about him when he lived in Glemsford, but not for here. On the other hand, Bonnie Langford c.1990 was a delight. Charming, funny, friendly and, weirdly (just cos it was so unexpected) exuding more s£x appeal than absolutely any woman (The current Mrs FBI excepted, obs ;-) ) I've ever met. Absololutely had six blokes, all cynical record shop types, drooling.

We were at a stock car meeting. No, not a figure of eight where they all smash into each other. They roar round a small track with modified cars. None of them were street legal, no windscreens, no headlights, no glass on the car at all. At the end we couldn't get the Escort Mk2 started. This short middle-aged guy came up and laughed and said it's a pile of junk but hang on 'cos he knows a guy. His friend came and said 'Nick says you've got a problem'. He hit the engine with a hammer. It started. That 'Nick' was Nick Mason the Pink Floyd drummer.

Not that this has any baring on him as person but the security guard at my old office was in the Army and Clarkson came to shoot something for what must have been top gear at the base, said the shelf on the drivers side door was just lined with layers of cigarettes, out of the packet, just stacked one on top of the other in rows. No idea if actually true

Friend of mine came across Chris Tarrant many years ago, he was apparently a letch and quite unpleasant, whereas Noel Edmonds was nice nad bought everybody drinks. I met a load of famous people while working at Glastonbury. Unfortunately, I often failed to recognise them (Jarvis Cocker was a bit huffy about that). Most were nice. Florence (of ... and the Machine) is particularly lovely. Billie Piper and John Bishop were a bit arsey (tho I didn't know who they were until someone pointed it out after). Helped push Ms Dynamite's car out of the mud (she'd parked in the wrong place for the dance tent). I must have encountered Coldplay, but have absolutely no memory of them whatsoever.

Yep, incredibly disappointing to see him not only lie about inviting a quasi fascist to lunch, but then to give a textbook non apology too- unforgivable. He’s incredibly lucky that this is Suffolk and a good percentage of people appear to be in favour of Farage and his quasi fascism.

A horrendous talent free vacuum who backpedalled from lauding Savile as a good friend after his death, to saying they barely knew each other at his own trial. A right Colin Hunt from the Fast Show it seemed, brought out a really creepy book on the 90s where he had taken pictures of famous women in unusual settings (including the aforementioned Miss Langford), famously didn't own any vinyl as he had everything taped, barely any interest in the music played, threw a hissy fit on air when he resigned from Radio 1. Just no. Looked like an overgrown topiary bush that grew a face. Snooker on the radio, my elbow. Quack quack oops off, you complete void of anything [Post edited 28 Jul 23:29]

I too have met Stephen Fry and he was very nice, but someone said they had the opposite. Important to acknowledge the effects bipolar disorder can have on people and the human condition as a whole. There are days where I am nice and friendly and also days where im a c unit.
