Players you thought would make more of an impact after leaving Ipswich. 10:57 - Jun 5 with 5536 views | OwainG1992 | Lewis Price. Just looking at his stats and he played such a low amount of games after leaving us in the next 13 years of his career. I thought he was gonna go on to be at the very least a top championship standard keeper.

I thought Ian Westlake would go on to establish further, thought he was a good player but never seemed to progress.

Players you thought would make more of an impact after leaving Ipswich. on 11:08 - Jun 5 with 4744 views | WeWereZombies | Tommy Oar - he could talk the talk but looks like he couldn't walk the, err, wing. Kundai Benyu - currently at a second division club in Iceland after making twelve appearances for Wealdstone. I guess at twenty three there is still time for him to come good but the signs are not encouraging. Cameron Stewart - Did the three quarters of a million that landed in his bank account from Leeds just stuff up his ambition or was he never going to make the grade? I always thought, despite almost everyone asserting to the contrary, that he would turn his career around. Turns out everyone else was right. [Post edited 5 Jun 2021 11:21]

I think it's because he was young...and Welsh! I may have some rose tinted glasses Don't be surprised he had 11 caps for Wales. We had nobody else available back then! I thought Owen Garvan would do more too.

Agreed on Owen Garvan. Looked like he had something but never really pushed on.

I think Sunderland was the wrong club for him after he left here at such a young age. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I always liked Garvan too, though I think we probably saw the best of him here.

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I wish we’d kept Wright for 1 more season. It would’ve benefitted us as a club and I doubt we’d have been relegated, also it would’ve given him another full season in the EPL with that intense exposure before making that move to Arsenal.

I think maybe he's a player that needs to have a team built around him or needs to be told how good he is.
