Harris done deal 22:56 - Dec 13 with 16046 viewsportmanking

Rumours gathering pace on WhatsApp among a few people I know connected to the club that it's sorted. Bircham could indeed be part of Harris' coaching setup, which could explain his odds with the bookies.

If this does have legs, I have to say I'm truly, truly gutted we've chucked Cookie for this lot.

I would have preferred to keep Cook if that is true.

Because Cook was doing a spectacular job.

If it's Harris I'll be underwhelmed but he deserves the support of the fans.

If this is the case, I’m disappointed. It shows that either the owners’ ambition has waned or they made a right mess up of it. There are plenty of questions for Ashton and O’Leary to answer.

However, the bloke gets a clean slate from me and my support accordingly. I wish him well. Cook with a bomb proof record failed, maybe Harris will succeed if given the right support.

I would totally agree. Harris played with Bircham at Millwall I believe, so there's likely to be links there. David Livermore has been Harris' main lieutenant in the past and would surely be involved too.

Whoever is appointed will get my support. Unless it's Grant Holt or Darren Huckerby. I have standards...

That’s a very low bar. Perhaps we can throw in to the banned pit Chris Sutton as well?

There’s an argument that Harris’ record is better than Cook’s.
Harris isn’t for me but I will give him my support. The football could be going back to the dark ages.

Has a decent enough track record, don’t know enough about his playing style, but as with all Town managers, will and rightfully should get our backing as Town fans.

If this is correct, then so be it and we get behind him.
My only concern would be do we know what success now looks like? He'll have had a similar amount of games between now and the end of the season as Cook has had this season to date.
What is realistic and when will we know it's time to turn and look for a new manager?
Rather than being a dream job, I can't help but feel we're a bit of a poisoned chalice right now.
I really do wish whoever comes in the very best of luck.
Unless it's Alladyce.
Or Megson.

Edit.

PS. What if they play 4231?

But it would show that ashton has learnt from his dean holden experience.

I'm not against this. Get us up by playing league one football and keep us up in the championship by making us hard to beat. Then hire liam manning and buy bersant celina.

Although I would support him I would be seriously underwhelmed.

Frankly, as bad as it looked under Cook I would have given him the season if this is the alternative.

Cook has been truly terrible, so only has himself to blame.

If it is Harris, let's just hope the trust is justified.

Let's be fair, none of us really know what his philosophy or potential is.

Harris doesn't feel like an Ashton or Gamechanger appointment. Dare I say it, almost like it was a case of sack Cook first, look for an alternative then panic as one by one, for differing reasons, they fell to the wayside.

I'm a bit underwhelmed but moving on from Cook was still the right thing. It needed to be changed, it wasn't working.

Harris could make things work, you never know. He's done reasonable jobs and been competitive almost every season he's managed.

He may get things going, i'll be fully behind him and perhaps it's the manager that's most underwhelming out of the last few that has the most success. It's not like more favored appointments have done anything successful other than Mick
