Not sure The Sun would splash it on the front page if they weren’t sure. Insane money. And ever more reason to despise Man City

Yeah, same here For all the talk of Man City splashing the cash their record signing is still KDB for £68m. They also tend to buy up and coming players hitting their peak - 8 of their top 10 fees were for players aged 25 or under. Kane just doesn’t fit the profile that they’ve typically gone after, and that’s before you factor in that Pep finally got his long-desired strikerless setup to gel last season File under believe it when I see it, but as you say I’ve long ceased being surprised by football!

The money involved is ridiculous, but then so is pretty much every transfer at that level now. If we'd have won the final he would have been praised for serving the team with his performance, even if he didn't do the thing he's most famous for - score goals. His role drastically changed last season and he still ended up on 18 goals and the most assists in the league. Not to mention he consistently scores above his expected goals - he'd take Man City to another level, which is the main reason I don't want him to go there, but hard to argue he wouldn't deserve the move. Thats all very well and good, but the ownership are desperate for CL success, and can easily afford Kane.

Wasn't even that much. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33686731 City buy well. Not convinced Kane's worth it.

Don't know why any player would want to swap City for Spurs. A club, much like Arsenal, that is drifting further away from the elite by the season.

They were pretty awful to watch at times with that striker less set up, and I think it became far less effective towards the end of the season.

Like Arsenal, overspent on their stadium and now need to pay for it by selling players and buying not very good replacements Didn't their stadium go from £500m to nearly £1bn? [Post edited 23 Jul 2021 8:55]

The perils of being a London club. Haven't Chelsea quietly ditched their own stadium redevelopment due to costs? Maybe man unt will be next to face this problem if what I read about old Trafford getting knackered is true?
