Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 19:01 - May 9 with 3311 views | ITFC_Forever | Hard to call… Neither of Sheff Wed or Bolton are particularly great, but Weds are more effective, especially with Windass coming back. Posh blow very hot and cold, and Barnsley need a cutting edge to help Cole. I think Weds will grind their way to promotion. I’d prefer Peterborough, as you say, nice and local.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 19:11 - May 9 with 3280 views | Vic | On recent form it should be Sheff Weds. Barnsley tailed off pretty dramatically over the last 6 games. Posh and Bolton seem to have been pretty average in the run in.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 20:47 - May 9 with 3207 views | Guthrum | Said weeks ago that Peterborough will win the play-offs (same post I predicted SheffWed would lose to Forest Green and go on a bad run). On an emotional level, I'd more favour Barnsley. Or even Wednesday because they had what would normally be an outstanding season, but still missed the automatics.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 13:18 - May 9 by WeirdFishes | Peterborough for me, enjoy that as an away day. Although it may scupper any move for Jack Taylor. Wednesday - No chance, horrible fan base who I’d love to see disappointed. Bolton - Fairly inoffensive to me, wouldn’t care if they went up. Barnsley - Don’t want Norwood to go up. |
Bolton inoffensive? Not sure many will agree with that? Awful club, awful fans, awful stadium, awful ex-managers.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 18:51 - May 9 by OldFart71 | Firstly playoffs are a sham. It's a wonder Matt Alright or Rav haven't had them on Rogue traders and Scam Interceptors. Anyone who finishes third should go up automatically. Playoffs have two aims 1/ To screw more money out of the fans 2/ To satisfy the Wembley coffers. I would have hated Town to have been in the playoffs it's a lottery where one mistake, one bad refereeing decision, one injury and bad luck can kill off your chances. Town had many games during their promotion where deflected shots, goals disallowed, penalties not given and downright bad refereeing could have stopped any chance of promotion along with injuries pre Christmas. But they had time to recover and did magnificently. They may or may not have had such fortune in the playoffs. Who knows ? |
Play offs have been one of the (very few) best changes to football in modern times. Everyone knows the rules, stops seasons finishing in February and keeps geniune interest going. It should be more geared in favour of where you finish. 5th plays 6th at home, winners play away to 4th and then 3rd plays winner at home. Leave Wembley out of it [Post edited 9 May 2023 22:03]

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 08:32 - May 10 with 2975 views | RobTheMonk | I'd like Wednesday as Madge's Brother in Law is a fan and lives not too far away. I think it'll be Wednesday. They seem to have recovered their form at just the right time, Barnsley on the other hand, have lost confidence since we beat them at theirs. I can't see Wednesday having too many issues against Peterborough or Bolton either, their form has also slipped of late.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 14:45 - May 9 by Bobbychase | I went to Bristol Rovers v Bolton on Sunday. Bolton didn't impress me tbh. They won, but Rovers hit the bar twice and also defended like clowns which skewed the scoreline a bit. Everything went through Adeboyejo so keep him quiet and I think you can stop them. |
This is possibly the most bizarre "Abuse Reported" I have seen on TWTD. Either a very angry Bristol Rovers supporter appears to have taken umbrage at your criticism of their defence, or a frothing Boltonite is livid that you are implying that they are a one man team. Or someone has such a profound fear of clowns that seeing the word triggers them? Or maybe it is direct action from "Stop Violence Against Crossbars"? Perplexing!
Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 11:08 - May 10 with 2893 views | blueasfook | Sheff Weds deserve it. They gave promotion a good go but luckily we held them off. At least one of those teams is going to enjoy a glorious day out at Wembley. I'd have took play-offs (if my crystal ball told me we would win). A day at Wembley would be fun. Will have to be Championship play-off final now next season I guess

Owlstalk would have an apocalyptic meltdown. Don’t want Posh to go up otherwise that might scupper the deal to sign Taylor.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 12:58 - May 9 by wkj | Peterborough can stay down as nothing amuses me more than Darragh MacAnthony taking pops at town when in the league below. Barnsley is where my hopes are going, but Josh Windass returning from injury will bolster Wednesday's chances by a not-so-insignificant amount. [Post edited 9 May 2023 12:59]

Peterborough can stay down so we can order a Jack Taylor to go with a Clarke-Harris on the side.

More likely someone was scrolling on their phone and hit it by accident. I almost did that the other day. The confirmation button popped up where I was about to put my thumb next, just managed to engage my brain and avoid it in time.

That's an interesting play-off concept. A bit unfair on 6th that 7th get the chance that 6th don't. I guess that if it's 3rd v 3rd in the final they simply don't play it. To clarify, I am sure you really meant 2nd plays the winner of 3rd v 4th. The equivalent in this league would be 3rd plays winner of 4th v 5th. Not sure you could easily add in any more levels to that. Doing 5th v 6th for the right to play 4th and the winner meet 3rd in the final (or anything similar) would mean a long time without 3rd playing.

Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough on 23:38 - May 11 with 2638 views | lizzibee | I'm going Barnsley as they were in my opinion the best we have played against. The final will be between them and Wednesday. Whilst it would be a travesty for Wednesday with the points they have accumulated, I can't say I would not enjoy the Owlstalk meltdown if they missed out. But Peterborough is a close away day
