but apparently he bought young Jackson the new kit this morning, after seeing him at Planet Blue. A very fine gesture.
Another customer also bought Jackson's sister a shirt. Well done both of you.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

I clicked on the link to find out who Jackson is. Good to see a youngster being warmly embraced by the ITFC community. He has additional learning needs and recently stopped attending his football lessons, having struggled to integrate with the fellow kids. His Dad, an active twitter user, appealed to famous faces and fans to help rekindle Jackson's passion for the sport.

If Richard knew Harry Clarke had promised to buy him the kit then it's a bit odd, because financial assistance wasn't being sought and it possibly stymies a really cool experience or 'playground boast' - as big a draw as Richard may well be himself. Yet the gesture has been well received and so I imagine there wasn't a date for the Clarke experience in anyone's diary.

This feels like a Black Mirror type episode where someone does something nice, but everyone hates them for doing it and has to find agendas.

I couldn’t give two turds what Cruncher does. The little boy seems happy enough though.

Not really, itfc fan does something nice for fellow itfc fan.

Don't agree with with everything he says, but credit where credits due.

The odd thing is it's only the people criticising him that are making it about him.

I might be missing something but I don't quite understand the comment: "Being kind cost's nothing, pleasure to buy Jackson the New away kit."

"Being kind costs £42," surely?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I think some people on this thread need to take a breath before writing.

Someone spending their own money to buy a kid a shirt is a decent thing. It doesnt matter if it went on the internet or not.

You're a bit short this week, but no matter, KM said he'd buy you a pint and bring it over and have a chat.

He needn't bother, I'll buy you one and have a chat with you instead.

Pah, that's nothing. To drive traffic and and viewers, MrBeast on YouTube gave away a $2M private island to one of his subscribers. This Crunchie bloke, whoever he is, needs to up his game if he wants to be a social media star. That seems to be all it's about - trying to become a social media celeb. He needs to do a lot more to make it.

I agree. So odd and weird that people would get triggered by this gesture of kindness. Probably says a lot about the modern world we live in though. All very sad and pathetic.

Sure he would've done it without the camera on him. Errr, not.

That dad is milking it big time now too, won't stop tweeting about the situation.

....people are buying kits for this child?

From what I can see the original "message" put out by his Dad was about his son lacking the confidence to go and play football due to behavioral and educational issues.

It was an issue around his "personality" rather than a financial problem (I can see that his sister has a new kit too, which I assume they bought themselves)

It now appears that there is a whip round to buy him some training kit too.

Surely there are better ways to help the kid?

Doesn't get hits or attention though does it?

Given how he has described this place and the way they have behaved towards Phil, EADT and the rest of the fanbase it's a shame they're given any sort of oxygen at all.

Can't blame people for being taken in or forgetting the Bedsheet era, but curious someone has to work so hard to launder their image innit?

That's a reply. The dad put it on social media.

Cruncher deserves a special place in hell for his bedsheet antics but you're not being fair in this instance. Fair play to him for buying the lad a kit.

It’s a ‘quote tweet’, not a simple reply, which would’ve been more discreet. Plus he’s added the itfc hashtag too. Both increase visibility as it means it shows up to his followers via his feed as well as anyone looking at the itfc feed generally. So safe to say he was happy for it to be seen more widely.

I’m not knocking the gesture though. If helping with stuff like that and sharing spare tickets etc makes him feel good and he wants to show it off then most of us can cope with that in return.

In fairness, it’s not that different to a lot of the PR & community stuff that the club does now, which isn’t viewed quite so cynically. They’re not purely doing the right things out of the goodness of their hearts, they’re incentivised because it also helps to engage the fan base and drive revenue too.

I think some here are missing the point. Irrespective of what anyone might think about him this is a charitable gesture, and I'm sure the recipient would've sincerely appreciated it.

Equally I'd hope Harry Clarke won't be feeling gazumped, but instead happy that the boy now has a shirt. It's not about them, it's about the boy.

I find it somewhat distasteful and sad that people here are finding ways to hate on someone for being kind, simply because it found its way onto social media. In a time when social media is used by so many for abhorrent purposes, anyone with an issue about a feel good story like this should perhaps take a long hard look at themselves.

I mean. If you were a young lad who had a kit bought for you, would you rather it was by a local hero who loves the club which you'll no doubt have fond memories of for years to come? Or a local gobsh1te who tries to get his face in front of every camera going to promote his p1ss poor podcast?

It's taken the shine away from what would no doubt have been a special moment for that kid. And anyone who knows what "Cruncher" is about knows that this is nothing to do with Jackson at all. Shameful stuff really...

Not sure it's being taken in as much as just not really giving it a sh1t about the drama.

As for the bedsheet era I will never forget walking towards the stadium and hearing Magilton out! Magilton out! then in an instant it was hijacked by inners and they were drowned out by pro Magic fans.
