Does Moore start then? 13:40 - Feb 2 with 3207 viewstractorboy1978

McKenna is so methodical and big on preparation that I don't think he will. But part of me thinks we've made this investment, he's match fit, we've missed that focal point and we know his strengths, so chuck him in from the start to beat them up for an hour.

Yep, I think it's one where he can provide a real spark after the Maidstone disappointment - both on and off the pitch in the away end.

He is an experienced professional now, I'm sure he can be trusted to fit in with our group quickly, he has Welsh teammates in the side as well... I think he'll be straight in if I'm honest

He is fit and been playing in the Premier League.
Yes, he starts.

I think he will, he's an experienced player and has a long coach journey to sit next to one of the coaches and run through patterns of play etc.
Then Hamadi to come on and run at them for the last 25 mins.
Excited for tomorrow's game

I'd argue an unprepared Moore is a better option than anyone else available to us.

No. Jackson will start. Moore off the bench.

KM rarely, if ever, starts someone with no training sessions under their belt with the team.

He has to start. For all the reasons people above suggest. We’ve missed a target man for the whole month we need to throw him in. He’ll give us 60-70 mins, then the kid Ali can finish them off with his turn of pace.

I guess it depends on how we're expecting Preston to play a bit, but in this instance I think its worth breaking the pattern a bit and throwing Moore straight in - it will certainly cause Preston major concern and get us on the front foot in the game, even if we're not quite as in tune with each other and as slick as we might be with KJ up there.

Can't wait to see Al-Hamadi too.

Didn’t Davis come straight back from Australia and into the team?
Reckon Moore starts.

I’m in no doubt.
We need goals, wins and too extend that points gap to Third again.
He starts no question.

McKenna does have history throwing people straight in. Leif started immediately after joining.

I expect him to start. Match sharpness comes with matches!

Yes he starts.

Jackson is so limited in the number 9 position. As proven in recent performances.

No need to over think here. Moore is our ready to go Hirst replacement.

Jackson has been fantastic in recent performances.

There is no such thing as a "ready to go Hirst replacement." Moore knows nothing of our system and patterns of play, and the rest of the team have no idea how he plays. I'd be amazed, given those facts, that McKenna would just throw him straight in and hope for the best.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I think people underestimate the tactical demands of the number 9 role in our set up. It's not as simple as him being fit so we can just throw him in and it'll all work out. He's not trained with us yet, only been here for a day, and won't have got to grips with our patterns of play at all. McKenna has tended to be careful with throwing players straight in from the start at late notice, probably learning the lesson of what happened with Davis. I'd be surprised if he starts, think it's more likely he comes off the bench against tiring defenders after Jackson runs them ragged for 60-70 minutes.

I still think he starts... whatever your opinions of "need to know systems etc" ... Bournemouth ain't the dog and duck, he will be well versed in tactics , I mean they also play against teams who use our approach as well so as an experienced pro now I'm sure he'll cope ....and as I said before, he has two national team mates currently in the side.....

Pretty sure he'll start.

I think we're going to be surprised at how high his individual level is. Long time since we've had anyone with a legitimate claim to be a proper mid-career Premier League player.

My gut feeling is that Jackson will start. One of the coaches will be in Moore’s ears explaining patterns of play, what they need him to do when he gets on the pitch, etc.

Been a good window btw!

I think Jackson will start but if it's not working we should switch to Moore really. It's very hit or miss with Jackson as to whether he creates enough room for everyone, not through any fault of his own really.

That’d be Moore like McKenna …

However, think he may make an exception today - Kieffer will have watched videos, and is experienced enough to be able to take in and implement what’s required. Better to have Moore time if possible to provide something that’s been missing lately, than just a substitute’s minutes.
