Not at all. We come first. If the club can’t get a first team out due to the lack of players and injuries then so be it. Couldn’t care less what another club thinks. It’s obviously not been done with any intent and shows how stretched and short we actually are. Could also be McKenna making a valid point to the powers that be that we’re not where we should be in terms of squad depth. It’s obviously not ideal for the opposition and have some sympathy for them but trust the decision was the best for Town and that’s all that matters. IMO |  |

Ian Westlake was saying on commentary that McKenna wants all the first teamers to be together as a unit in these pre season games rather than play mixed sides.
But it looks like we should perhaps have ignored the wishes of our highly-rated manager so we didn't lose face with a Bundesliga club.

My gripe isn't the cancellation as I knew it was going to happen it was obvious a week ago.

I get your point about the fans but it’s all swings and roundabouts assuming that they have travelled to see both games. They would have expected to see 2 mix n match teams, instead they’re going to see a very strong tomorrow.
I think it makes us look poor with our opponents who would have been gearing up to meet strict opposition as part of their pre season preparation. If Nice turn up with a team of kids a week before our first league match we wouldn’t be impressed | |

If Nice turnex up next week and did the same, there'd be multi thread 10pagers on how disrespectful it was to us.

Considering the u21s went over to play it then we could have had two games with a mix of first time and u21s in in both.
Ideal maybe not to KMs desires. But it does fulfil the contract at least. | |

Balderdash, absolute rubbish. We wouldn't have done it unless we had real concerns. So what do we do, risk players just 2 weeks out from playing Liverpool, just so we can be nice? Has to be Ipswich first, not Borussia first. Feck 'em. You, and all the others moaning, would soon be complaining if we'd stretched the first team players too far and we racked up some more injuries for the season ahead, just so that we could be good eggs and put some first teamers out in the game today. Perhaps some naivety in arranging fixtures so close together, but I fully support the club in putting us first. |  |
