Nah he just needs some cover. He offered a decent threat against incredible opponents yesterday.
His defensive attributes need work but everyone is learning on the job bar probably Omari. He is the only player who looks incredibly comfortable at this level. |  |

He's definitely not had the best starts. But we do need to remember who we've played.
Imo he's weakness is defending against speed. I'm no coach so only KM and his team will know if they can improve this aspect of his game. If they can then he stays in of course as going forwards he will have alot of joy with the forward line we've put together, he just needs to work on his dealings with this tricky and clever wingers and he'll be fine. |  |

Tbf i think he was fantastic against Salah for much of the Liverpool game but caught by a smart tactical change.
He was also fine against Citeh except for one marginal penalty decision.

I knew this was going to come up.
By the way, Leif has certainly been poor in some defensive moments in the opening couple of weeks, but to suggest he should be dropped is ludicrous.
There are things he will need to improve on defensively with the step up, of course there are, but that will come. But what he offers offensively is absolutely crucial, and his understanding of his role in this team is so unique.
Let’s also not forget he has come up against Mo Salah, Savinho and two of the best sides in the world in his first two weeks.

He gave away a marginal penalty, but should have been awarded a penalty. Maybe, It's not worth focusing on, but there should be much more focus on that terrible decision. This questioning of Davis is simply ridiculous but then so were those on here calling for him to be in Southgate’s squad! Imagine the cry’s for Southgate’s head had he taken him and defensive flaws were encountered in his first game.
