Boat crossings now out of control 07:56 - Nov 12 with 16044 viewsonceablue

In the last 6 days 30 boats have arrived carrying 1806 people of which 1712 are men

It is now worse than under the previous government

This raises 2 questions

What are the labour government doing to stop this as they were adamant they could sort this ?

Unless all these men are single would you leave your wife and kids alone in a country where apparently there is persecution, war and lots of horrible things happening?

Mesopotamia had technology, literature, legal codes, philosophy, religion, and architecture at a time when the inhabitants of this island were living in caves.

That's a tad harsh. Think roughly by the time the Mesopotamians had writing our kind European neighbours had shown us how to build simple houses from mud and wood.
At that time we were also very good at making various shapes from pieces of stone.
If you want a axe shape or a arrowhead shape from a piece of stone look no further. As you say, legal codes, philosophy and literature probably still a few thousand years down the line

Ipswich Town Centre on a Saturday resembles most third world countries, as do most towns.
Only the loony lefties refuse to see it.

80.9% of the residents of Ipswich were born in England
2.7% were born in Romania (about 3,800 people)
1.8% were born in Poland (about 2,500 people)
1.3% were born in Lithuania (about 1,800 people)
1.2% were born in countries that joined the EU between April 2001 and March 2011 (other than Poland, Croatia, Lithuania and Romania). A further 1,700 people.

So, in total, the number of 'people from third world countries' (and in fact none of the those are third world countries, but we'll let that pass) you might see in Ipswich town centre on a Saturday is less than a third of those heading to Portman Road on a Saturday.

You can look at some actual figures on the ONS 2021 census website if you're genuinely interested in established facts rather than spurious prejudices.

All are welcome 👍

The UK - only the 51st most densely populated country in the world.

However, large parts of its population are clearly dense.

Don't use a person's sexual orientation as an insult or butt of a joke of you don't want to be pulled up on it then.

I've seen my gay 18 year old daughter on the end of homophobic insults during her school years too many times to let your comment go. You're just enabling the insults she received. Seualty isn't a joke or and shouldn't be used as an insult.

If you reply, then that will be an argument. If you just take on board my advice then it won't be.

That wasn’t what I was doing at all and for reasons that some on this board will know via PMs that’s not going to be the case.

I’m done with you.

You are an argumentative antagonistic condescending poster who causes more division and arguements on here than any other poster. You always have a little story or slant to play a victim card for petty point scoring.

I will not engage further with the you so no doubt you’ll find a new target soon enough

Fk you're an aggressive individual,

Absolutely, when people use homosexuality as an insult. Maybe you’re ok with that but I’m not.

It’s hidden homophobia to use homosexuality as an insult, or in this particular case to mock or embarrass somebody. It perpetuates the view that homosexuality is something to be ashamed or embarrassed by.

To be honest, I thought it was mocking Tories caught with their pants down with underage boys.

That's what I thought the joke was.

No I would rather they came via the legal route as many people do.

We would be lost without the many mainly women and men that I have come via the legal route and work in the care sector and NHS.

It’s funny how no one has answered the 2nd question of mine about leaving your wife and kids I know I couldn’t

Genuine questions: what "legal routes" are available?; and, who are they available to?

Underage boys weren't mentioned. Fit young men were. So the joke is that Onceablue must be a Tory councillor because he/they are attracted to fit young men. The aim is to use homosexuality to embarrass somebody.

I'll repeat again, using homosexuality as an insult, or in this particular case, to mock or embarrass somebody perpetuates the view that homosexuality is something to be ashamed or embarrassed by. Not acceptable.

And having seen somebody i dearly love go through mental anguish when they came out during their teenage years it's not something I'm going to leave un challenged.

Nothing else to be said on the matter imo.

1628 in the last seven days according to official figures.

Not one of these has been an 'uncontrolled landing' so the majority will likely get sent back.

If Iraq is a third world country, would that not be our fault for bombing their country, invading and stealing their natural resources ? All because Sadam tried to kill George Ws daddy ?

I have no idea if it is a third world country btw

Third world as a term has been out of date since about the 70s - which makes sense given it was first used in a daft racist trope more at home there.

LIC or Low income country is the modern term. Iraq doesn’t feature in the list of these countries but is consider lower/middle alongside countries like Jamaica. I wonder if most people would call Jamaica the third world?

I don't think the term third world has generally been used for several decades, has it? I can remember it being viewed as antiquated when I was at university 30 years ago. Think it's only being used by the poster to sneer at other countries and people who originate from those nations.

Well yeah, nobody wants homosexuality as an insult. But surely the joke here was Tories and pedophilia. You can't just say "underage boys weren't mentioned" and then brush it under the carpet so you can get offended by a homosexuality joke.

Again, context.

It's horrible what your daughter's had to go through. Disgusting. But this 'joke' clearly has nothing to do with that. I understand why you'd be triggered around this topic, but as someone with no skin in the game (other than I'm massively woke) I really don't think the intention is what you thought it was.

EDIT : To add to this, I've just looked back, and I was spot on. Keno said, "
So do you think he is only interested in fit young men..." which you had no problem with. No comment or downarrow. Then Noggin said, "Fit young men, in rubber. dinghies..."

We all knew the 'joke' at that point. Still no comment or downarrow from you. Finally Passion adds: "So he’s a Tory councilor then in all probability!?"

So the bit you got offended by was "Tory councilor".

Point of order - Third World was not created as a racist term. It referred to countries that were not aligned with the Capitalist powers (1st World) or the Communist bloc (2nd world)
