Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 20:59 - Jun 2 with 1996 views | Swailsey | I’d heard this previously but assumed it wasn’t true. Could this mean we’re opening the door for Cajuste?! Surely not, that would be a hell of a coup.

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 20:54 - Jun 2 by Ftnfwest | The top priority this summer is the two in the 4231. Whilst there’s no doubt Morsy could do another championship season I think he’d be on the wane by the end of it at least. Seems like the sort of deal that would suit him if it happens and we need youth in those positions now. |
We need 2 irrespective of where Morsy is next season. I’d like him as an option though, bit of leadership and continuity. Should still have a role to play for 12 months ideally.

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 20:33 - Jun 2 by JeremiahBrown | Another article here https://www.teamtalk.com/ipswich-town/sam-morsy-ipswich-exit It seems like it could be him who wants to leave as it says 'The Egypt international, who has made over 150 appearances for Ipswich, is keen to explore opportunities in the Middle East.' 'Clubs in the Middle East are understood to be monitoring the situation, with Morsy’s experience and pedigree making him an attractive prospect.' [Post edited 2 Jun 20:35]

Another article from the same people. Are they in any way connected to the club or Morsy? Or if not in any way reliable?

Unless I’ve missed it, which is entirely possible, Cajuste is the only one of the loan players who hasn’t given a farewell message yet. Does make you wonder if something is going on behind the scenes.

Definitely, he hasn’t. And Phil reposted McKenna’s words about wanting to keep him earlier too..

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 20:53 - Jun 2 by Parky | No, me either to be honest. I saw Harrison Reed’s name mentioned the other evening, any other names? I guess we’re pushing quite hard for Cajuste too. |
There was positive sentiment towards Cajuste talks last week but with nothing finalised at the time. Harrison Reed was one we’d spoken to and I believe was also still progressing at the time. Someone else stated we had agreed a fee for a Birmingham chap but that’s not one I’ve heard. Know we pushed very hard for Downes at the end of January, however his Instagram post was unnecessarily positive about next season at saints if he thought he was off. I think we’ll end up with both Cajuste and Reed, but may well need 2 more

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 20:29 - Jun 2 by RadioOrwell | For Sammy to go back up with us and then head East would be completely perfect end. |
I certainly wouldn't begrudge him a move to Felixstowe if he did get us up again.

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 20:28 - Jun 2 by victorysquad | With Sam, it is not about a loss of his playing ability, that is relatively easy to replace. Replacing his leadership qualities, is much much harder, but totally essential as one thing I think we lacked this season is enough leaders, who, when we were behind were prepared to stick their necks out and say "we are not having this" |
Would it be easier to replace his leadership and qualities going into a championship season, or a premiership one? Think we will learn from the keeper situation and get as settler squad we can for if we go up again this season. Plus, o Shea has pretty much been nurtured for the captaincy

Ah, I stand corrected. Read very much like what he said at the presser. Still got quotes to post from that.

It wouldn't entirely surprise me if he did move on but I doubt the story linked has much behind it. If he was off to Saudi or similar, I can't see that Town would be willing to do a deal without a fee.

Ahead of a PL one imo, as we’d have to replace him anyway. He’ll never play in the PL again, but he could play a valuable contribution next season. It’s probably bollox though - the Saudi links have been around for over a year.

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 21:40 - Jun 2 with 1510 views | itfcsuth | Would be an emotional one - what a player, what a captain. There is of course the flip side that says we are always looking to evolve and develop - and at 33/34 it may be we are looking for the next group to take us on another incredible journey, like Morsy’s men did previously. Whenever he leaves, will go as a legend of the football club. Leader from L1 to PL - wow.

Obviously you have very limited football knowledge our best signing last 3 years instrumental to our success. But I fully understand if Sam goes on a 2 Yr deal for good money and set his family up

Morsy could leave for free this summer… on 22:05 - Jun 2 with 1267 views | Daninthecampo | He's been a great player and captain for our club, if he wants to leave he's earned the right to. Offering O'Shea the captaincy could hopefully be enough to keep him here, would be a great captain

Downes - no thank you. Over-rated. Would prefer Brian Pettifer.
