A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 20:03 - Aug 2 by CopfordBlue | Looking at it objectively I can’t say I blame him. Premier League, moving back to London, presumably a much higher salary and a signing on bonus that will make him financially secure. He’s a professional. He moved here to progress his career. He never gave me the impression that he loved the club. I’m sure he’s enjoyed his time here and will look back on it warmly but it was always a stepping stone for him, particularly after we were relegated. Yes the £35m release clause has passed but there is the letter of the contract and the spirit of it. He’s a young, ambitious lad who did well for us and in turn we were good for him. The club will make a health profit, he’ll benefit from the move and so both parties win. Some of the comments on the news story aren’t right in my opinion - “snowflake” etc. He’s a 21 year old talented English footballer and I really hope he goes on to fulfill his potential. Thanks for the memories Omari. |
Young and ambitious and yet he wants to go to Brentford who have lost their manager and best players and are one of the favourites to get relegated. Very shorted sighted if you ask me, we could well pass him on the way down next year and I hope we do.

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 19:49 - Aug 2 by Clutch | I think he should be able to leave, but he should remain professional until he does, just like people should when working notice etc. |
He typifies 99% of professional footballers, zero loyalty. McKenna should’ve called him out, not mentally in the right place equates to he’s wants out and he’s sulking. Good riddance if he feels like that, non place in the squad for someone like that, regardless of his skill. Still a lot of business to be done before the window closes. Here’s hoping Brentford struggle and go down this season.

He can't say he's off if negotiations are still ongoing. Of course he could play if his head wasn't in it, Broadhead did. It was just a friendly and it's pretty clear he won't be here next season. I just think you're reading too much into McKenna's words.

He’s going to be playing top flight football one way or another for a long time.

There's ZERO loyalty these days. If they dont get what they want they refuse to play. Contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on. He was happyvrnough to sign it a few months ago. Go to Brentford. Enjoy your PL experience in another struggling side and we'll wave to you as we pass each other at the end of the season. Flynn Downes Mk II

I am glad that McKenna did not take your advice. It would have reflected very badly on him. His management skills are second to none, which is why players respect him so much.

KM wouldn't say he was off anyone he'd say as I said that the club would announce something. He's done that in the past. KM doesn't lie in interviews or use manager speak He's incredible transparent if hutch was close to leaving he'd have used the club line. Not hutch telling him he's not mentally in the right space. But let's just believe what we want it doesn't matter either way really.

A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 19:47 - Aug 2 by FrimleyBlue | Pathetic imo. Send him to the u21s if he doesn't to do what we pay him to do. The end of the day he's paid very well to do his job. He accepted that contacted and he knows in football you can't just say you want to go if a club doesn't pay what your club wants them to pay. He's been well paid by us. |
Great idea. Send him to the U21s. Hand the power straight to the buying club just to satisfy a short term tantrum. Honestly, some on here really need to wake up. I am not suggesting I know how to run a club but use some common sense.

Few good games last year in general way out of his depth, his only saving grace Brentford are more established with technically better players so he may be ok, I think they will struggle and technical players have no fight if this is the case he will have a woeful season with them,

You only expect loyalty one way. If we had the chance to 'upgrade' anyone in the squad you wouldn't think anything of it.

On the contrary I think our fanbase has been very empathic towards players that we have had to ‘upgrade’ (replace) over the last couple of years and sad to see them go.

I can only speak for myself, but I don’t care that he wants to go and play in the Premier League. However, downing tools less than a week before the start of the season is a massive middle finger to everyone that’s got him to this point of his career. [Post edited 2 Aug 20:49]

Them losing their best player is the biggest positive part for him as that is who he is replacing and will be a starter for that reason. For him it's a move to the Prem with a ready made position and one that could lead to him going back to a top 6 club. I get it. If we get £40 mil or very close then it's good business for the club and if it pays for everything we need an keeps us the right side of PSR then it's still a big thank you to Omari from me. He's helped our club become awesome again

I'm intrigued. If he didn't want to play because he's mentally not in the right place. Can he not train too.. are we supposed to pay him for doing nothing.

Re your first para - if he’s not already financially secure from what he’s been paid for the last two seasons, he’s either got the wrong financial advisors, none, or zero sense!

Exactly ... If there was a bid under consideration I'd get it. At the moment Brentford have not renewed their interest and they had a bid rejected two weeks ago?! How long is this going to go on for? The whole of August incase they bid again?
A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 21:16 - Aug 2 with 659 views | SouthfieldsBlue | I think for the only time in my life I will say we should take a leaf out of Leeds' book and look to how they dealt with Gnonto when he felt "unable to play" two years ago. Until our price is met he is an Ipswich player and should fulfil all the duties that encompasses.

I agree, Brentford certainly haven't made another bid, if they had you can guarantee it would have been leaked. As ive said above I bet its Brentford playing a game. They've leaked the fact they're contemplating another bid, purely aimed at getting Hutchinson unsettled to try anf force through the £35m offer by not playing. And as ive said before, do what Leeds did with Gnoto when he went on strike, stuck him in the U21s/trained on his own. 2 seasons later he's still there and playing.

Who knows what the situation is. But I cannot accept this ‘head not in the right place’, downing tools stuff - if it’s true. If it is, it’s unacceptable. He is a professional footballer and paid handsomely to do his job. He should have the curtesy to his employers and his colleagues to do his absolute best until he moves on. I’d accept nothing less and in the real world never did from myself or others. Assuming this is the way it looks (and it’s a big, probably unwarranted assumption so apologies OH if it is), I’d want him out as fast as possible. At any price. I’d also want every other player to understand that if the grass is greener for them, they’re history too. The trick of the promotion teams was that literally all appeared to be pulling together in the same direction. I’m getting little sense of that now and without it, there’s no way on earth we will get out of this division at the right end this season. That’s my fear and view.
A shame Hutchinson is choosing to go out like this… on 21:26 - Aug 2 with 581 views | JammyDodgerrr | Honestly it's one of those frustrating ones, and as fans we feel we are "owed" a certain level of loyalty, when in reality we aren't, and the players almost certainly don't think of it that way. They know football is short. Realistically, I think we were probably all expecting him to go so it won't be surprising to see it happen - but it will be disappointing if it happens. Explains why Broadhead didn't go ahead.

How is it an assumption. It's literally what KM has told us Look at the way he explains broadhead. Who let's face it is in the exact same situation. Maybe even more so as Wrexham have bid pretty much what you'd imagine we would be happy to sell him for.. One player got on the plane and done his job The other....
