I was watching Grimsby v Salford earlier when a clear offside wasn't given and changed the game.
The number of bad decisions against us this season where VAR would have changed the game.
Other sports have equivalents of VAR which work perfectly.
It needs to be more transparent; we should hear the VAR official in discussion with the ref as with the likes of cricket and rugby. But, if used correctly, it should be a step forward for the sport. |  |

Football is a subjective game anyway. You will never have binary right and wrong with some decisions.

Football is governed by a a clear set of laws maintained by IFAB, and the fact that referees exercise discretion no more makes the game subjective than a judge interpreting law makes justice subjective.
Vast majority of decisions made by referees are binary, based on these laws. VAR was supposed to correct those which are clearly incorrect.
Current implementation of VAR is poor but that doesn’t actually support the statements you are making.

The thing that always makes me laugh about this topic is when a ref has a bad game, as we've seen this season, a huge percentage of fans moan like f%%k and demand the ref should never manage another game.
The arguement for scraping VAR is let the ref, referee, if he makes a mistake then so be it, that's part of football.
Same old funny world, scrap VAR & accept mistakes, don't have VAR then the ref should be sacked when he makes a mistake.

Correct decision. VAR is flawed, but overall an improvement over football without it. This isn't the 1970s. No one wants to go back to lawless, free-for-all challenges on the keeper.
Also, I'd prefer West Ham to go down than Spurs. Corrupt porn-baron Chairman, as dislikeable as ours. Drove them into giant white-elephant stadium that West Ham fans hate. I can see them spiralling downwards in a half-empty stadium. Serve the WH owners and Boris Johnson (London Mayor) right for a dumb decision to build a stadium was never suited to be hybrid athletics/football (football was only legacy option), and then make disparate, botched attempt to retrofit "legacy" to it, which involved us taxpayers subsidising West Ham. Actually the American challenge system as used in baseball and the NFL seems to be hybrid version those who want to limit VAR promote. Give each number of challenges per game - kept if successful, lost if not - and, otherwise, VAR cannot interfere. | |
