You might be right, but I don't think these numbers prove it. This is just relief at the vaccine situ surely?

When Starmer started pulling Boris to bits at QT I thought Labour were on to something - but the ball has stopped rolling. A Corbyn figure is never going to get elected and it doesn't look like a Sensible Starmer type will either. Labour always seem to be worried more about governing their party than actually governing the UK Labour will not win an election under any leader until the Conservatives decide blow up and lose it (as is what happens with any political party) The bottom line if truth be told is that people don't trust Labour with finances.

The last paragraph is depressing when we're currently governed by a bunch of charlatans that have literally given away billions of pounds of public money to their friends, blown billions more on a shambolic Brexit (lots of which went on planning for no deal, which was only ever posturing), and who have consistently failed to meet their own targets on deficit and debt reduction despite huge cuts to public services and - until last year - favourable global economic conditions. That's before money wasted on stuff like HS2 and Crossrail, both of which have gone massively over budget. The country is fooked, nobody cares about evidence anymore.

It’s a once in a lifetime situation. The polls are totally meaningless and won’t look like that in two or three years time. Not that they’re accurate in normal times. Nothing to see.
Blimey on 18:57 - Mar 4 with 2494 views | StokieBlue | It's not that surprising on the back of a successful vaccine rollout, some people tend to sway in the wind and at the moment the vaccine rollout is front and centre. Let's see if it's anything like that in 2 years time when all the cronyism has been exposed along with the wasted billions and any investigations into the deaths. There is also the serious risk of job losses and other financial challenges which will come up over the next year. As it stands it's meaningless as there will be no Westminster election to vote in for quite some time. SB

Stupid c**ts, should have had a massive presser in which everyone lined up to point out that she was only doing what any parent would rather than this whole 'actually hold someone doing wrong to account' business. [Post edited 4 Mar 2021 19:09]

Just pointing out that the Tories are still inexplicably popular despite being provably corrupt, incompetent and criminal and not actually taking punitive action against their wrongdoers hasn't done them any harm so I'm not sure why Labour have decided to actually punish someone for doing wrong.

Seemed to start well, regularly putting Johnson on the ropes and then basically vanished. Weird strategy.

Of course not, I'm just wondering why you think that wrongdoing should make them unpopular when it hasn't had a dent on Team British Fish and No Foreigners.

Blimey on 19:31 - Mar 4 with 2305 views | lowhouseblue | it's pretty simple. party politics are suspended during a national emergency. it's what normal people expect. all the poll is showing is a degree of relief that the end is now in sight. once there's some normality starmer will run rings around them.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Blimey on 19:53 - Mar 4 with 2193 views | vapour_trail | Not massively surprising. Everyone’s increasingly optimistic about the vaccine, which has the potential to see this government exit the pandemic in credit with the fckwiteratti, who are many in their number. I’m only surprised the likes of the telegraph and express haven’t called it the johnson jab or something like that. Rather depressingly, I don’t see the boy Starmer levelling up either in the coming period. Only mass unemployment and extreme economic hardship will hurt the tories from where I’m looking, and whilst the outcome is desirable, that journey is not something any of us want. From mocking the money tree, they’ll be shaking the fcker for all it’s worth from here to the next election.
