No ID has been checked for me for the two pre-season games, or the people that have gone in before me.
The people in front of me yesterday didn’t even get asked to show proof of vaccine/negative result.

Same for me - got my Covid Passport uploaded on the app but no photo ID. I even checked the season ticket letter carefully to see if there was any reference to it there and there wasn't.
Oh well, might as well cancel my season ticket. |  |

I had my paperwork and photo Id with me for the palace game, however there was one one steward on a set of 6 turnstiles for the west stand. If anyone seriously thinks they are going to check the paperwork of 17 or 18k going into the ground at 2.50 then they need a reality check. Otherwise the club will need to open the turnstiles at 9am! | | | |

Bringing a passport to a football match for a 14 year old seems a little excessive? Not everyone will have photo ID.
Not even sure what ‘ Photo ID will be required by ticket holders on entry to verify ‘Covid status’.’ really means for a 14-18 year old.
Also don’t recall telling anyone when giving my season ticket to someone else if I was unable to attend. Is this just a recent COVID thing? |  |

In the same boat as you - no photo ID as never had a driving license or a passport. Am bringing my mask exemption card from the bus in as some sort of photo proof, as this is all I have! |  | | |

Actually you will find that anything that requires a vac status also requires an Id status. Sort of makes sense.

Back in April when I started my current job I had to provide proof of right to work in UK, which I did by way of passport.
How do those without passports prove this?
I care for an elderly uncle who hasn't had a assistance early 70s and gave up driving licence 10 years ago, so has no photo id, other than "Freedom pass" it whatever it's called. [Post edited 2 Aug 2021 7:01]

Yep, the idea of wondering around for the day with your passport in your back pocket isn't something I'd do.
A photograph of it should suffice for all but the most officious of stewards.
The club has made a rule that would exclude a few if it is fully implemented as described, but at the end of the day, suspect (and hope) common sense will prevail at the ground.
At the Millwall game I was asked for my proof of vaccination and once produced the steward barely gave it a glance never mind checking it was valid, mine and or matched to any photoID.
What I will do doing on Saturday is making sure I have it to hand before getting to the turnstile, as if everyone spends as long phaffing around looking for it as I did would make for long delays. |  |

I've been to both games and not been asked for ID - but Dave Dymond who I do the Blue Monday podcast with noted on todays that he was asked for his.
Said he went with his 2 boys, one who was double jabbed - him and his double jabbed son showed vaccine cards and that the name matched up with their tickets, but were subsequently asked for photo ID, so it is happening depending on steward/entrance
His other son who hasn't had second jab yet was admitted to the ground with a negative lateral flow test and just showed that screen on his phone and didn't even need to match it up with their ticket
If anyone doesn't have photo ID, may be worth just doing lateral flow if they are worried based on this |  |

Sure that would be, yes. On Saturday, all they were worried about with me was checking the name on my vaccine card matched the name on my ticket. On league matchdays (particularly as people pile in close to KO) I doubt they will be taking too much time checking. | | | |

I'm staggered by the number of people who don't have photo ID. The number of times it is needed in life what do these people do when its needed for something? People who don't drive or don't have a passport must have a back up plan to function in life surely?
And those who only have a passport and don't want to carry it, I'm sure a photo copy of even taking a pic of it on your phone will be fine. |  |

I have a passport luckily but my driving licence is the old style which has no photo ID. Except for the one occasion I went abroad in the last ten years, I cannot think of a single occasion I have needed or been asked for photo ID.
Maybe its because im old and dont look like you young ruffians. :-) |  | | |
