Only started 1 league game this year think I read somewhere so not match fit. Not sure why we are getting him, we need attack minded players not Naaridge rejects.

Not exactly a Norwich reject when they sold him to a Premiership club for £20m after they got relegated is he? Sounds more like he rejected them

Thanks, we'll let Kieran and Mark know, it's not to late to cancel the deal.

Woolfy and Clarke to out on loan? With Godfrey moving into the Axel role I would imagine O'Shea shifts into the centre.

I think its a decent signing. I always thought he did OK for Everton.

Premier league experience and is versatile. It would suggest some players are going to be shipped out.

This one probably:

Disappointed by McKenna by Blue_Heath 23 May 2024 6:14
Looking back over last month or so they were hints he could leave (Davis on SKY after final game saying he hopes the manager stays, some of Ashton's and his own comments) and now it is blindingly obvious he will.

On the one hand I am eternally grateful for two marvellous seasons and getting us back to where we belong but on the other very disappointed he won't even give us one season in the premier league.

Wherever he ends up he is going to learn a lot next season and it will be interesting to see how he handles losing streaks if at Brighton, something he has not had to worry about here. Also will be interesting to see how he handles the board, as I understand it he had a say in most things here that won't be the case at a Brighton or Chelsea.

Whilst the short term gain for McKenna will be huge he surely has to consider the longevity of managing either Chelsea or Brighton or is he a career chaser moving on when his stock is at its highest? My guess would be he'd last no longer than 18 months at either club. Where does he go from there?

Personally if he stays and takes us down finishing bottom I don't think many fans or the board would want him gone.

The big worry is where do we go from here? Let's be honest the euphoria of going up has had as good a feel factor as I can recall in my 50 year lifetime. We are now caught between someone trying to be McKenna mkII with same team or ripping team up and starting again. Either way I have big doubts that will get us 40 points next season.

I hope Potter would come to us when McKenna leaves and be able to do what he did at Brighton but fear he may have better offers. Cooper I like but he does have huge losing streaks in him and Edwards of Luton has done well this year but can't see what he'd be able to differently to keep us up if I am honest. That said hopefully I hope Ashton can unearth another gem.

I am now totally fed up with all the speculation and more importantly the fact we are losing valuable time to plan for next season when we don't know who is going to be in charge. Thanks for the memories McKenna either sign the new contract or go quickly please.

No, he works for Sky.

I reckon the OP was referring to Fabrizio Romano.

Clarke yes, Woolfy no.

Be interesting to see where Clarke goes, I think it’s inevitably going to be the championship unless he fancies Scotland again. Half season in the SPL might not be the worst move.

I agree. Clarke would be best served getting regular games at a very important age for growth. He is a solid defender with great attributes, but needs some work on positioning and decision making. That will only improve with consistent, regular football.

I love him, and want him to play many more years at Ipswich, but he needs games, and a half season loan would be good for him. See: George Edmondson.

I have no opinion on Godfrey, but regardless of his history, if KMcK thinks he will improve the team, I have faith in him. COYB

Did you read where it says 8 clubs are interested in him, including allegedly Spurs?

You have been reading the oinkun if you genuinely believe him to be a reject.

Maybe better to stick to the Oinkun if you believe all their shyte.

I started a private campaign a few years ago to get that vessel of perpetual failure which so suitably represents Norwich City Football Club and its forlorn followers renamed to The Oinkun (it first came about due to a typo on my part which seemed so serendipitous) and I am glad to upvote any post or poster who uses the correct form as you have.
